What is happening?

THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF DURHAM (A690 WEST RAINTON TRAFFIC SIGNALS) (PROHIBITION OF U TURN) ORDER 2024

Notice is hereby given that the County Council of Durham intends to make an Order under Sections 1, 2 and 4 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which would be to introduce a prohibition of "U" turn on 1.A690 north easterly bound carriageway through gap in central reservation at Pittington Road junction to travel on the A690 south westerly bound carriageway 2.A690 north easterly bound carriageway through gap in central reservation at C12A West Rainton junction to travel on the A690 south westerly bound carriageway 3.A690 south westerly bound carriageway through gap in central reservation at Pittington Road junction to travel on the A690 north easterly bound carriageway 4.A690 south westerly bound carriageway through gap in central reservation at C12A West Rainton junction to travel on the A690 north easterly bound carriageway. A copy of the draft Order together with supporting documents may be inspected at Belmont Library during normal opening hours and via the Council website. Any person who wishes to object to the proposed Order should send their grounds of objection, in writing to Sharon Renwick, Legal Assistant, County Hall, Durham DH1 5UL or by email to Highways.Orders@durham.gov.uk (ref:3777408) by no later than 13 June 2024.
