Chandos Road & St Leonards Road - Temporary Road Restrictions For Laying New Underground Power Cables
What is happening?
LONDON BOROUGH OF EALING
NOTICE OF MAKING OF TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER FOR PLANNED WORKS AFFECTING: CHANDOS ROAD & ST LEONARDS ROAD, PARK ROYAL.
Ealing Council has made the following temporary traffic order under sections 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:
Title of order
This order can be referred to as: Temporary traffic order for planned works - TT 4079 Chandos Road & St Leonards Road, Park Royal - 2024.
Reason for order
This order is needed to allow for works taking place on or near the road. These works involve JSM Construction laying new underground power cables.
Effect of order
1. Chandos Road will be closed at a point where it joins St Leonards Road. St Leonards Road will have its contraflow cycle lane closed from its junction with Bashley Road to a point where it joins Chandos Road. (45 metres in length).
2. Chandos Road will be made into a 2-way road system for vehicular traffic from a point where it meets St Leonards Road to its junction with Victoria Road.
3. The following temporary restrictions on vehicle movements will take effect from 20th May 2024.
(a) No entry into the fully closed section(s) of Chandos Road & the cycle lane in St Leonards Road.
(b) No waiting, loading, or unloading on either side of the carriageway within the fully closed section.
4. The above temporary restrictions and prohibitions will only apply at specified locations where appropriate traffic signs are provided and displayed in accordance with Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual.
5. While the temporary restrictions are in place, displaced vehicles should follow the diversions displayed in place to reach their destinations and comply with any traffic management measures.
6. This Order does not apply to:
(a) anything done at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a police community support officer (PCSO).
(b) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance.
Date order will come into force. 20th May 2024
Maximum duration of order
This order will expire on 19th November 2025 or, on completion of the works, which is expected to be 10th June 2024, whichever is sooner.
