What is happening?
EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The East Sussex (U3157 Church Road, St Leonards-on-Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Church Road – from the junction with U3158 Blomfield Road to the junction with P3120 St Pauls Place.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3158 Blomfield Road – U3159 Magdalen Road – U3158 St Johns Road – U3157 Church Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 24 May 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 24 May 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6735 Marina Court Avenue, Bexhill) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 No.2
To allow BT to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Marina Court Avenue – from the junction with U6735 Channel View West a distance of approximately 50 metres.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 28 May 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 28 and 30 May 2024, depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U3188 Portland Place, Hastings) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Portland Place – from the junction with U3188 Stone Street to the junction with A2101 Queens Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3188 Stone Street – A2101 Queens Road.
The Order commences 29 May 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 29 May 2024, depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C92 Battery Hill/Fairlight Road, Fairlight) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Battery Hill/Fairlight Road – from the junction with U6636 Peter James Lane to the junction with U3238 Martineau Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C92 Battery Hill, Pett Level Road – C23 Chick Hill Pett, Pett Road, Friars Hill – A259 Winchelsea Road, Rye Road, Old London Road – C92 Fairlight Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 28 May 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 20:00hrs to 04:00hrs between 28 May and 1 June 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C639 Ivyhouse Lane, Guestling) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 No.2
To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Ivyhouse Lane – from the junction with C639 Chowns Hill to Coghurst Hall Holiday Village.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C639 Chowns Hill – B2093 The Ridge, Conquest roundabout, The Ridge – A2100 Junction Road – A21 Sedlescombe Road North – A21(T) Sedlescombe Road North – A28 Westfield Lane, Church Lane – C22 Moor Lane, The Moor, Three Oaks Road, Butchers Lane – C639 Ivyhouse Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 24 May 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 24 May 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A259 Grosvenor Crescent, Marina.
The Order commences 10 June 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 10 and 11 June 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
The Deals – from the junction with U6438 The Strand to the junction with A259(T) Strand Quay.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6438 The Strand – A259(T) Strand Quay and vice versa.
The Order commences 7 June 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 7 and 14 June 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Hog Hill – from the junction with U6966 Windmill Lane to the junction with U6418 Wickham Rock Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6966 Windmill Lane, Workhouse Lane – A259(T) Main Road, Hastings Road – C298 Monks Walk – U6418 Wickham Rock Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 10 June 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 10 June 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Springfield Road – from the junction with C664 The Green to the junction with A2102 London Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C664 The Green – U3124 Charles Road West – Charles Road – U3134 Pevensey Road – A2102 London Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 13 June 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 13 June 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3140 Silchester Road, Gensing Road – U3141 Norman Road – A2102 London Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 10 June 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 10 and 14 June 2024 depending upon the weather conditions. The Order commences 13 June 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 13 and 18 June 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.
