What is happening?

Warwickshire County Council

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Warwickshire County Council has made the following Temporary Traffic Orders:

CROSS STREET, LEAMINGTON SPA

Order Effect: Road closed between its junction with Willes Road.

Reason for Order: Works to install duct in footway and carriageway.

Order Commences: 28 May 2024 for up to 18 months.

Anticipated Completion: 30 May 2024.

Access & Diversion: Willes Road, Clarendon Street, Cross Street and vice versa.

Contractor: Conley Utilities, Tel: 01675 446 285.

CAMPION ROAD, LEAMINGTON SPA

Order Effect: Road closed to vehicular traffic in its entirety from its junction with Lillington Road.

Reason for Order: Installation of new Surface Water Separation mains and associated works.

Order Commences: 15 January 2024 for up to 18 months. Unfortunately, these works were delayed but have now been rescheduled as follows: 3 June 2024 to 23 October 2024.

Access & Diversion: Campion Road, Villiers Street, Lower Villiers Street, Clarendon Street, Lillington Road and vice versa.

Contractor: For STW, Route One TM, Tel: 01212 894 222.

D7087 ASHFIELD ROAD, KENILWORTH

Order Effect: Road closed between Brooke Road and Thornby Avenue.

Reason for Order: Carriageway patching works, closed 08.00hrs-16.00 hrs.

Order Commences: 30 May 2024 for up to 18 months.

Anticipated Completion: 30  May  2024.

Access & Diversion: Brooke Road, Windy Arbour, Thornby Avenue and vice versa. Access/ Egress to be maintained where possible to businesses and residents only. Access/Egress to/from Blackthorne Road to be via Farmer Ward Road whilst works are in progress.

HUNNINGHAM ROAD, HUNNINGHAM

Order Effect: Road closed to vehicular traffic from a point opposite Hunningham Grange.

Reason for Order: To safely enable pole testing works.

Order Commences: 27 May 2024 for up to 18 months.

Anticipated Completion: 27  May  2024.

Access & Diversion: Hunningham Road, Fosse Way, Oxford Road, Leamington Road, Main Street, Rugby Road and vice versa.

Contractor: Sunbelt Rentals Ltd, Tel: 03700 500 792.

MELTON ROAD, LEAMINGTON SPA

Order Effect: Road closed to vehicular traffic.

Reason for Order: Works to repair pipe in manhole.

Order Commences: 29 May 2024 for up to 18 months.

Anticipated Completion: 6  June  2024.

Access & Diversion: Highland Road, Kinross Road, Lime Avenue and vice versa.

Contractor: Customer Solutions Plus, Tel: 07380 549 482.

REGENT STREET & DALE STREET, LEAMINGTON SPA

Order Effect: A One-way Traffic flow will be imposed, between the junctions of Dale Street and Portland Place and right turns will be prohibited from Dale Street onto Regent Street.

Reason for Order: To safely enable works for excavation to clear blockages in existing apparatus in footway and overlay in carriageway.

Order Commences: 28 May 2024 for up to 18 months.

Anticipated Completion: 30  May  2024.

Access & Diversion: Dale Street, Warwick Street, Portland Street.

Contractor: OCU Group, Tel: 08008 199 001.

Warwickshire County Council proposes to make the following Temporary Traffic Orders:

OAKLEY WOOD ROAD, BISHOPS TACHBROOK

Order Effect: Road closed to vehicular traffic.

Reason for Order: To enable works for a new water connection.

Order Commences: 10 June 2024 for up to 18 months.

Anticipated Completion: 13  June  2024.

Access & Diversion: Oakley Wood Road, Harbury Lane, Fosse Way, Banbury Road and vice versa.

Contractor: For STW, Network Plus & Go TM, Tel: 01158 965 832.

For all of the above temporary orders, pedestrian access to and egress from properties and land situated adjacent to the length of road to be closed will be maintained at all times. Vehicular access will be maintained where possible.

THE WARWICKSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL  

CONVERSION OF A FOOTPATH TO A SHARED USE FOOTWAY AND CYCLE TRACK (A429 COVENTRY ROAD, TOWNESEND CLOSE, PHILLIPPES ROAD AND HUDDISDON CLOSE, WARWICK) CYCLE TRACK ORDER 2022 CYCLE TRACKS ACT 1984

Warwickshire County Council hereby gives notice that on 1st May 2024 the Secretary of State confirmed the foregoing Order with modifications under section 3 of the Cycle Tracks Act 1984, the effect of which is to convert a footpath, as described in Schedule below, into a shared use footway/cycle track with a right of way for pedal cycles and on foot. The confirmed Order comes into effect on 24 May 2024.

A copy of the confirmed Order and associated plan are available to view, free of charge, online at https://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/news/20210/warwick-district and at Shire Hall, Market Place, Warwick.

Any enquiries relating to the Order may be made to Daniel Morris, Transport & Highways, Communities, Warwickshire County Council (telephone number: 01926 412529).

Any person who desires to question validity of the Order on the ground that it is not within the powers of section 3 of the Cycle Tracks Act 1984, or on the ground that any requirement of regulations made under subsection 3(4) of the Cycle Tracks Act 1984, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within six weeks from the date of this notice, make an application for this purpose to the High Court.

SCHEDULE

That section of informal path as shown coloured orange on the plan attached to the Order, which extends from point A (at its junction with the new cycle track that links to A429 Coventry Road, Warwick), northwards for approximately 200 metres to point B (at its link onto Hayle Avenue), and from point C (at the northernmost end of Huddisdon Close) northwards to point D on the plan (at its link to the shared use footway/cycleway on Primrose Hill), and having a width of generally 3 metres as indicated on the plan.
