Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

FOLKESTONE & HYTHE AREA

RACE FOR LIFE, FOLKESTONE (TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

For the safety of the public whilst the Folkestone Race for Life charity event is being held, Kent County Council has made an Order to restrict traffic on The Leas, Folkestone, as defined below.

Restriction: Road Closures from 9th June 2024 between 10:15 hours and 13:00 hours.

Road Name: Cliffe Road, Metropole Road West, Metropole Road East, The Leas, Dixwell Road

Extent: The entire length.

Road Name: Dixwell Road

Extent: From the junction with A259 Sandgate Road towards The Leas

Diversion: Westbound traffic is via West Terrace, Bouverie Place, Bouverie Square, A2033 Middleburg Square/Bouverie Road West/Castle Hill Avenue and Sandgate Road.

Restriction: No Waiting from 10:15 hours on 9th June 2024 to 13:00 hours on 9th June 2024

Road Name: The Leas

Extent: Between Metropole Road East and Metropole Road West.

WALTON GARDENS, FOLKESTONE, CT19 5PS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Walton Gardens, Folkestone, on or after 18th June 2024 for up to 10 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 48, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Walton Gardens, Downs Road, Dolphins Road, Wingate Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL(VARIOUS ROADS, FOLKESTONE & HYTHE)(WAITING RESTRICTIONS AND STREET PARKING PLACES)(CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2021(AMENDMENT NO.7)ORDER 2024

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The Kent County Council, acting as the Local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers and under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 19, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 49, 51, 53, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following Order:-

1. This Order shall come into operation on 27 th day of May 2024 and may be cited as “The Kent County Council (Various Roads, Folkestone & Hythe) (Waiting Restrictions and Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2021 (Amendment No.7) Order 2024” (‘this Order’)

2. The Interpretation Act 1978 shall apply to this Order as it applies for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

(a) Folkestone: In the vicinity of: 13 Marshall Street; 58 Garden Road; 11 Penfold Road; 63 Wear Bay Crescent; 22 Foord Road South; 29 Grimston Gardens; 33 Geraldine Road; 46 Langdon Road; Rear of 7 Linksway; Rear of 5 Linksway; 73 Church Road; 22 Denmark Street; 38 Dallas Brett Crescent; 18 Brabner Close; 14 Chart Road; Hythe: In the vicinity of: 105 Royal Military Avenue; 1 Almshouses, Rectory Lane; 43 Princes Terrace, Dymchurch Road; Brenzett: In the vicinity of 6 The Haven, Rhee Wall; New Romney: In the vicinity of 26 Langport Road;

(b) The Order revokes the following disabled persons parking places in Folkestone: In the vicinity of: 31 Bradstone Avenue, 15 Ethelbert Road, 10 Morrison Road

3. Article 40 (3) (a) in the Order of 2021 shall be deleted and replaced with the following:-

(a) Sign(s) displaying the time, date, and location of the restriction placed on appropriate street furniture in the vicinity of the suspended Parking Place, Parking Area or Loading Bay: or,
