The M65 Motorway (Junction 5 Slip Roads) - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic

THE M65 MOTORWAY ( JUNCTION 5 SLIP ROADS )

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) has made an Order on the M65 Motorway, in the Borough of Blackburn with Darwin, in the County of Lancashire, to enable ground investigation works on the verge and cores samples on behalf of Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council;  to be carried out in safety.

The Order will ban all traffic from the following sections of the M65 Motorway:

i.  the eastbound exit and entry slip roads at J5;

ii. the westbound exit and entry slip roads at J5.

Prohibitions i.-ii. are expected to be in place overnight between 20:00 and 06:00 during a period starting on Sunday 9 June 2024 and ending on Saturday 10 August 2024.

However, works may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights until completed.

Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the M65 Motorway and local roads will be well signed. The prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works or traffic officer vehicles; and will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall, from time to time, be indicated by traffic signs. The Order comes into force on 8 June 2024 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months. For further information, contact sam.smith@nationalhighways.co.uk.
