What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: A) B3080 (Part), Downton; from its junction with Barford Lane for a distance of approximately 440m in an easterly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out traffic signal refurbishment and associated works. Alternative route northbound via B3080 (unaffected length) - B3078 - Salisbury Street - Salisbury Road - A338 -B3080 (unaffected length). Alternative route southbound via B3030 (unaffected length) - A338 - B3078 - B3080 (unaffected length). This Order will come into operation on 17 June 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 15:00 until 05 July 2024. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: B) Bodenham Loop Road (Part), Downton; from its property known as Roundhouse to its property known as Charlton Manor Dairy to enable Openreach to carry out access to communication equipment and associate works. Alternative route via Bodenham Loop Road (unaffected length) - A338 - Bodenham Loop Road (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 29 May 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 3 days. C) C288 (Part), Idmiston; from its junction with Gomeldon Road for a distance of approximately 265m in a south easterly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out footway resurfacing and other associated works. Alternative route via C288 (unaffected length) - A30 - A338 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 28 May 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:30 and 18:00 for 3 days. D) A350 (Part), East Knoyle; from its junction with B3089 to its junction with C58 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out skid resistance and associated works. Alternative route northbound (All vehicles): via B3081 - B3092 - A303 - A350 (unaffected length). Alternative route southbound (HGV's): via A36 - A303 - B3092 - B3081 - A350 (unaffected length). Alternative route southbound (Light vehicles): A350 (unaffected length) - B3089. This Order will come into operation on 31 May 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 until 04 June 2024. E) C256 (Part), Chute; from its junction with Forest Lane to its junction with Malthouse Lane to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing and associated maintenance works. Alternative route via Malthouse Lane - Dummer Lane - Breach Lane South East C262 towards War Memorial Square Lower Chute, War Memorial Square North West C262 towards Breach Lane Chute Standen, Hatchet Hill - Forest Lane East to Hatchet Hill and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 28 May 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00 for 4 days. For further information please contact Wiltshire Council on 0300 456 0105. Orders A) to E) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, DURNFORD) (30MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2024 (previously advertised as 2023)
Notice is hereby given that on 15 May 2024 Wiltshire Council made the above mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which is to introduce a 30mph speed limit on the following lengths of roads in Durnford: C292 Upper Woodford Road - from a point outside property known as Strathavon Farmhouse in a north easterly direction to its junction with Jubilee Hill; UC 23702 Durnford Track - from its junction with Jubilee Hill in a north easterly direction for a distance of 420 metres; UC 33801 Jubilee Hill - from its junction with Durnford Track in a south westerly direction for a distance of 380 metres; UC 33701 Little Down View - the complete length; UC 33802 The Drive - from its junction with Durnford Track in a northerly direction for a distance of 25 metres.
A copy of the Order can be obtained via email request to TrafficOrders@wiltshire.gov.uk. Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in the Order on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the above Act or on the grounds that any requirement of that Section or of Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act or any regulation made under the said Schedule, has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court. The Order will come into operation on 31 May 2024.
