TRAFFIC ORDER PROPOSALS - 30MPH SPEED LIMIT BY VIRTUE OF STREET LIGHTING ON A27 PROVIDENCE HILL AT BURSLEDON
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council ("the Council") proposes to make the above-mentioned Order, in exercise of its powers and duties under Sections 82, 83 and 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Act, and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act.
GENERAL NATURE AND EFFECTS OF THE ORDER: Will be to revoke a length of 40 miles per hour speed limit on that length of A27 Providence Hill/Oakhill/ Bridge Road so as to allow a 30mph speed limit by way of a prescribed system of street lighting between a point 45 metres north-east of its junction with Portsmouth Road and a point 30 metres south-east of the south-eastern kerb line of Old Bridge House Road.
This order will revoke and consolidate the provisions contained in The Borough of Eastleigh (Hamble Lane, Bursledon and Portsmouth Road, Old Netley) (Restricted Road and 40mph Speed Restrictions) Order 2003; and The Borough of Eastleigh (Hamble Lane, Bursledon and Portsmouth Road, Old Netlley) (Restricted Road and 40mph Speed Restrictions) (Amendment No.1) Order 2015 with no change of substance save for the that described above.

OBJECTIONS AND OTHER REPRESENTATIONS: All objections/other representations in respect of this proposal must be made in writing to The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UD or email public.notices@hants.gov.uk quoting reference:- [C840/MJB], by Friday 14th June 2024. All objections must state the grounds on which they are made. Under the requirements of current access to information legislation, any statement you make to the Council in response to this Notice may be made available to the press and to the public, who would be entitled to take copies of it if they so wished.
TITLE: The order, if made, will be known as "The Hampshire (Various Roads, Bursledon and Old Netley) (40 Miles Per Hour Speed Limit) Order 2024."
