What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF KIMPTON ROAD, CODICOTE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Kimpton Road, Codicote from its junction with Green Lane north eastwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 456m ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via Kimpton Road, B651 (High Street/Hitchin Road/Horn Hill/High Street), Codicote Road,Whitwell Road, B656 High Street, Heath Lane and Kimpton Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 12 June 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WHITEHILL, WELWYN) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the northbound carriageway of Whitehill, Welwyn from its junction with Homerswood Lane north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with School Lane, a distance of approximately 1302m ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Homerswood Lane, Ayot Green Lane, B197 (Digswell Hill/Welwyn Bypass Road), London Road, High Street and School Lane.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 10 June 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN HATFIELD AND WELWYN GARDEN CITY) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access:-

1. that length of Warren Green, Hatfield from its junction with Comerfield north westwards to its junction with Longmead, a distance of approximately 107m.

An alternative route will be via Comerfield and Longmead.

2. that length of Wyton, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with Shackleton Way south eastwards, north eastwards, south westwards and north westwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

3. that length of Warren Close, Hatfield from its junction with Warren Green south westwards and anti-clockwise for its entire length. There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 10 June 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CHURCH LANE, NORTHAW) ORDER N0.22024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Church Lane, Northaw from a point in line with the northern boundary of No.22 Church Lane south eastwards for a distance of approximately 15m ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via Church Lane, vineyards Road, B156 Northaw Road West and Church Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 12 June 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE DRIVE, POTTERS BAR) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of The Drive, Potters Bar from its junction with B556 Mutton Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 10m ("the Road"). An alternative route will be via B556 Mutton Lane, Baker Street, Heather Way and The Drive.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 10 June 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B556 MUTTON LANE, POTTERS BAR) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B556 Mutton Lane, Potters Bar from a point 156m north west of its westernmost junction with Cranbourne Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 20m ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via B556 Mutton Lane, A1000 (High Street/Hatfield Road/Great North Road), A1001 (South Way/Roehyde Way), A414 Great North Road, A1081 (London Colney Bypass/Bell Link Overbridge) and B556 (Ridge Hill/St Albans Road/Cecil Road/ Mutton Lane).

The Order is needed because the replacement of existing gas mains is proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 10 June 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN PEARTREE LANE, WELWYN GARDEN CITY) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Peartree Lane, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with Hyde Way north westwards to its junction with Bridge Road East a distance of approximately 165 ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Peartree Lane, Holwell Road, A1000 Broadwater Road and Bridge Road East.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 27 May 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HERTFORD ROAD, DIGSWELL AND DIGSWELL PARK ROAD, WELWYN) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"):-

1. that length of Hertford Road, Digswell from a point in line with the western boundary of No.50 Hertford Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 80m.

An alternative route will be via Hertford Road, A1000 (Hertford Road/Mundells), B1000 (Waterside/Hertford Road) and Hertford Road.

2. that length of Digswell Park Road, Welwyn from a point 70m north west of its junction with Hertford Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 75m.

An alternative route will be via Digswell Park Road, Hertford Road, A1000 Bessemer Road and Digswell Park Road.

The Order is needed because bridge inspection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 27 May 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF GREEN LANES, HATFIELD) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Green Lanes, Hatfield from its junction with B653 Marford Road south westwards, south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Manor Road, a distance of approximately 2586m ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via B653 (Marford Road/Brocket Road/Stanborough Road), A6129 Stanborough Road, A1001 Comet Way and Manor Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 1 June 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT VARIOUS ROADS DURING THE 'SLAM DUNK FESTIVAL 2024') ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following lengths of roads in Hatfield ("the roads") will be:

1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads, except for access:

a) that length of A1000 Great North Road, Hatfield from its junction with St Albans Road East southwards, south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with the B197 French Horn Lane/The Broadway roundabout, a distance of approximately 695m.

An alternative route for paragraph 1 (a) will be via B6426 St Albans Road East & B197 French Horn Lane (non-HGV diversion) or A1000 Hertford Road, A414 (Hertford Road/Mount Pleasant Lane/Great North Road), A1001 Comet Way, Hatfield Avenue, Mosquito Way, A1057 St Albans Road West, A1001 (Comet Way/Roehyde Way/South Way), A1000 Great North Road, the A1000 Great North Road/Dixons Hill Road roundabout & A1000 Great North Road (southbound HGV diversion) or A1000 Great North Road, the A1000 Great North Road/Dixons Hill Road roundabout, A1000 Great North Road,

A1001 (South Way/Roehyde Way/Comet Way), A1057 St Albans Road West, Mosquito Way, Hatfield Avenue, A1001 Comet Way, A414 (Great North Road/Hertford Road), A1000 Hertford Road & A1000 Great North Road (northbound HGV diversion). The road will be open to buses and residents only.

b) that length of the southbound carriageway of the A1000 Great North Road from its junction with the B197 French Horn Lane/The Broadway roundabout to its junction with Oxlease Drive, a distance of approximately 1003m.

An alternative route for paragraph 1(b) will be via B197 French Horn Lane, B6426 (Queensway/Cavendish Way), A1001 (Comet Way/Roehyde Way/South Way), A1000 Great North Road, the A1000 Great North Road/Dixons Hill Road roundabout &A1000 Great North Road. Northbound access will be maintained.

c) that length of Park Street from its junction with Old Hertford Road south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with Fore Street, a distance of approximately 605m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles whilst the event takes place. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the event.

d) that length of the A414 westbound slip road leading onto A1000 Hertford Road north westwards and south westwards to its junction with the A1000 Hertford Road, a distance of approximately 212m.

An alternative route for paragraph 1(d) will be via A414 (Hertford Road/Mount Pleasant Lane), the A414 Mount Pleasant Lane/A414 Great North Road roundabout, A414 Hertford Road & A1000 Hertford Road.

e) that length of Church Lane from its junction with the A1000 Great North Road, south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with The Broadway, a distance of approximately 40m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles whilst the event takes place. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the event.

f) that length of The Broadway from its junction with the JW the A1000 Great North Road/B197 French Horn Lane roundabout north eastwards to its junction with Fore Street, a distance of approximately 197m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles whilst the event takes place. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the event.

g) that length of Old Hertford Road from its junction with the JW the A1000 Great North Road, north eastwards for an approximate distance of 20m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles whilst the event takes place. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the event.

h) that length of The Ryde from its junction with the JW the A1000 Hertford Road, north westwards for an approximate distance of 20m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles whilst the event takes place. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the event.

i) that length of Lodge Drive from its junction with the A1000 Hertford Road, north westwards to its junction with Greenfield, a distance of approximately 20m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles whilst the event takes place. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the event.

j) that length of Mount Pleasant Lane from its junction with the A414 Hertford Road, north westwards to its junction with Pleasant Rise, a distance of approximately 77m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles whilst the event takes place. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the event.

2. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 30mph on that length of the A1000 Great North Road from its junction with the B197 French Horn Lane/The Broadway roundabout, south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Oxlease Drive, a distance of approximately 100m.

3. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 30mph on that length of that length of the A414 Hertford Road from its junction with the A414 Hatfield Road. B1455 Holwell Lane roundabout, north westwards and south westwards to its junction with the A414 Mount Pleasant Lane, a distance of approximately 3794m.

The Order is needed to ensure public safety and prevent traffic congestion for the duration of the 'Slam Dunk Festival 2024'. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 24 May 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified are expected to be in force between 24 May 2024 and 26 May 2024 and shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the roads.
