What is happening?

BOROUGH OF ROCHDALE
(WOMEN’S TOUR OF BRITAIN 2024)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICLES, TEMPORARY NO WAITING AT ANY TIME AND TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF EXISTING PARKING RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rochdale Borough Council intend, in not less than seven days, to make an Order, the effect of which will be to:-

a) Temporarily Prohibit vehicles from proceeding along:-

i) Broad Lane (B6194), from the Borough Boundary to its junction with New Broad Lane and from its junction with New Broad Lane to its junction with Oldham Road (A671),

ii) New Broad Lane (B6194), for its entire length,

iii) Oldham Road (A671), from its junction with Broad Lane (B6194) to its junction with Wood Street (A671), iv) Wood Street (A671), for its entire length,

v) Molesworth Street (A671), for its entire length,

vi) John Street (A671), for its entire length,

vii) St Mary’s Gate (A58), from the signalised junction with Yorkshire Street to its junction with Newgate

viii) Spotland Road (A680), for its entire length

ix) Edenfield Road (A680), for its entire length

x) Rochdale Road (A680), Ramsbottom, from its boundary with Greater Manchester to its junction with Bury Road (A676).

xi) Bury Road (A676), Ramsbottom, from its junction with Rochdale Road (A680) to its merging with C706 Bury Road (C706)

xii) Bury Road (C706), Ramsbottom from its merging with Bury Road (A676) to its boundary with Greater Manchester.

b) Temporarily Prohibit vehicles from Waiting at Any Time along:-

i) Broad Lane (B6194), both sides from its junction with Turf Hill Road to its junction with Oldham Road (A671)

ii) Edenfield Road (A680), both sides from its junction with Rooley Street to its junction with Upper Passmonds Grove

iii) Edenfield Road (A680), both sides from its junction with Moorland Terrace to its junction with Shawfield Lane

iv) Edenfield Road (A680), the south side from its junction with Shawfield Lane to its junction with Shepherd Street

v) Bury Road (A676), Ramsbottom, both sides from its junction with Rochdale Road (A680) to its merging with C706 Bury Road (C706)

vi) Bury Road (C706), Ramsbottom, both sides from its merging with Bury Road (A676) to its boundary with Greater Manchester.

c) Temporarily suspend those parts of the Borough of Rochdale (Civil Enforcement of Traffic Contraventions) (Various Streets) (Rochdale Township) Order 2008 along those sections of Highway specified in the part of this order relating to No Waiting at Any Time.

d) Temporarily suspend LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (ROSSENDALE AREA) (ON STREET PARKING PLACES, PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING) CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2009 - No Waiting Mon-Sat 8am-6pm.

-Schedule 11.075 Item No. 22 - Bury Road (adopted highway), West side, from its junction with Bolton Road North for a distance of 25 metres approximately in a southeasterly direction

The Temporary Prohibition of Vehicles will be operative between 11.00 hours and 16.00 hours on 9th June 2024.

The Temporary Prohibition of Waiting will be operative from 22.00 hours on 8th June 2024 until 15.00 hours on 9th June 2024.

The Order is required to facilitate the safe movement of the Women’s Tour of Britain Cycle Race and contains certain exemptions relating to emergency and race vehicles.
