Meadow Road & Station Road - Prohibition Of Driving For Works
What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(MEADOW ROAD & STATION ROAD, BEESTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024 (BX24-051)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Beeston in the Borough of Broxtowe.
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road:
a. Station Road - from its junction with Barton Street to its junction with Meadow Road.
b. Meadow Road - from its junction with Lilac Grove to its junction with Station Road.
2. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
3. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
Works 1 - From 00:01 hours until 08:00 hours on Sunday 26th May 2024
Works 2 - From 00:01 hours until 08:00 hours on Sunday 2nd June 2024
Works 3 - From 00:01 hours until 08:00 hours on Sunday 9th June 2024
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be: Lilac Grove - Humber Road South - Beacon Road - A6005 Queens Road East and vice versa.
The Order will come into force on Sunday 26th May 2024 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out.
The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Network Rail to carry out the install of steelwork for the Access for All Scheme (lift shafts and staircases);
