ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14(1)

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2024

BROADMEAD ROAD, STEWARTBY 24 – 036

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Broadmead Road Stewartby.

This temporary road closure is required to facilitate annual bridge inspection and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 23:00 to 11:00 hours from 8th June 2024 to 9th June 2024

The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Woburn Road, Green Lane, Stewartby Way, Broadmead Road.

The reverse route applies.

The proposed Order will come into operation on 8th June 2024, for a period of 12 months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier. TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2024

GREEN LANE, CLAPHAM 24 – 022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Green Lane Clapham.

This temporary road closure is required to facilitate fire hydrant repairs and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 08:00 to 18:00 hours from 5th June 2024 to 7th June 2024

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 16A

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2024

HIGH STREET AND MILL STREET, BEDFORD 2024 – 047

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along those lengths of High Street, and Mill Street Bedford. These temporary road closures are to facilitate any group or quarter final matches in relation to the Euro 2024 tournament and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

These temporary road closures are expected to be in operation 24 hours each day as and when required between the 14th June 2024 to 14th July 2024 The proposed Order will come into operation on 14 June, for a period of one month as detailed above, For further information please contact Bedfordshire Police Tel: 101.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2024

TURVEY ROAD, STAGSDEN 24 – 020

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, from proceeding along Turvey Road Stagsden Adj Round Hill Farm. This temporary road closure is required to facilitate a new water supply and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 08:00 to 18:00 hours from 17th June 2024 to 19th June 2024

The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Turvey Road, Northampton Road, Bromham Bypass, Bedford Road, Stagsden Bypass, High Street, Church Lane.

The reverse route applies.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2024

KIMBOLTON ROAD, WILDEN, KIMBOLTON ROAD BOLNHURST 24 – 021

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle or Equestrian, from proceeding along Kimbolton Road Wilden and Kimbolton Road Bolnhurst.

These temporary road closures are required for the replacement of 10km of a 12” water main and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours from 17th June 2024 to 1st November 2024

BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL PROPOSE TO INTRODUCE NEW PARKING RESTRICTIONS IN WOOD LANE & MEETING CLOSE, COTTON END

Reason for Proposal:

Bedford Borough Council has received a request from Councillors for extensions to existing parking restrictions in Wood Lane at Cotton End. This is in response to concerns raised over inconsiderate parking at these locations which affects visibility and safety, so these restrictions are intended to remedy that.

Effect of the Order:

1. To extend existing ‘No waiting at any time’ restrictions (double yellow lines) on the following lengths of road:

A    Wood Lane, Cotton End

(i)    On both sides, from a point approx. 15 metres east of its junction with A600 High Road (the end of the existing ‘No waiting at any time’ restriction) extending for a distance of approx. 6 metres in a south-easterly direction.

(ii)   On its western kerb, from its junction with Meeting Close to a point approx. 10 metres north-west of the projected north-western side of Meeting Close. B     Meeting Close, Cotton End

(i)    On its north-western kerb, from its junction with Wood Lane extending for a distance of approx. 10 metres in a south-westerly direction.

(ii)   On its south-eastern kerb, extending from the end of the existing ’No waiting at any time’ restriction to a point approx. 10 metres south-west of its junction with Wood Lane.

Relevant proposal documents may be examined during normal office hours at Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford, MK42 9AP. They will also be available for viewing on the council’s website at www.bedford.gov.uk/proposedtro. BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL PROPOSE TO FORMALISE A DISABLED PERSONS PARKING BAY IN BEAUVAIS SQUARE, SHORTSTOWN

Reason for Proposal:

Bedford Borough Council has received complaints about vehicles using a marked disabled persons parking bay in Beauvais Square, Shortstown without displaying a Blue Badge. As such, Bedford Borough Council propose to make an Order which will formalise this disabled persons parking bay and enable the enforcement of the parking restriction.

Effect of the Order:

1. To formalise the disabled persons parking bay at the following location:

A    Beauvais Square, Shortstown

(i)    On the south-eastern kerb of the southern leg of Beauvais Square, extending from a point approx. 35 metres southwest of Rochester Way, for 6.6 metres in a south westerly direction.

BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL PROPOSES TO ESTABLISH A PUFFIN CROSSING ON CLAPHAM ROAD, BEDFORD

Reason for Proposal: Bedford Borough Council intends to re-locate a signalled crossing on Clapham Road, Bedford to centralise a pedestrian crossing point, improve location for school users, and allow better vehicular movements into side roads. The Location of the Proposed Puffin Crossing is on Clapham Road, Bedford. The centre of the crossing will be outside no. 36, approximately 75.5 metres north-west of the centre of Slade Walk, Bedford.

Further Details of the proposed toucan crossing, a plan and a statement of reasons for proposing to establish the crossing may be examined during normal working hours at Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford. These documents are also available on the www.bedford.gov.uk/tro website. The details will be placed on deposit until 6 weeks after the crossings are commissioned or until it is decided not to continue with the proposal. BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL PROPOSE TO INTRODUCE NEW PARKING RESTRICTIONS ALONG CLAPHAM ROAD, BEDFORD.

Reason for Proposal:

Bedford Borough Council proposes to re-locate a signalled crossing on Clapham Road, Bedford to centralise a pedestrian crossing point, improve location for school users, and allow better vehicular movements into side roads. It will require the revision of existing School Children Keep Clear markings and introduce new parking restrictions along Clapham Road, Bedford.

Effect of the Order.

1. To revoke existing “No stopping on entrance markings, Mon - Fri, 8:00am - 4:30pm” restrictions on the following length of road:

A     Clapham Road, Bedford

(i)    On its north-eastern kerb, from a point approx. 13.5 metres north-west of the centre of Slade Walk for a distance of approx. 39 metres in a north-westerly direction.

2. To revoke existing “No stopping Mon - Sat 8am - 5pm except buses” on the following length of road:

A      Clapham Road, Bedford

(i)    On its north-eastern kerb, from a point approx. 52.5 metres north-west of the centre of Slade Walk for a distance of approx. 24 metres in a north-westerly direction.

3. To revoke existing “Pay & Display, Maximum Stay 4 Hours, Mon - Sat 8am - 6 pm except Permit Holders (C)” on the following lengths of road:

A      Clapham Road, Bedford

(i)    On its north-eastern kerb, from a point approx. 76.5 metres north-west of the centre of Slade Walk for a distance of approx. 14 metres in a north-westerly direction.

(ii)   On its south-western kerb, from a point approx. 58 metres north-west of the projected centre of Slade Walk for a distance of approx. 32 metres in a northwesterly direction.

4.  To introduce ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restrictions (double yellow lines) on the following lengths of road:

A      Clapham Road, Bedford

(i)    On its north-eastern kerb, from its junction with Slade Walk to its junction with Clarendon Street.

(ii)   On its south-western kerb, from a point approx. 8 metres north-west of the projected centre of Slade Walk extending for a distance of approx. 54 metres in a south-easterly direction (to the end of the existing ‘No waiting at any time’ restriction).

5.  To introduce “No stopping on entrance markings, Mon - Fri, 8:00am - 4:30pm” restrictions on the following length of road:

A    Clapham Road, Bedford

(i)    On its north-eastern kerb, from a point approx. 9 metres north-west of the centre of Slade Walk for a distance of approx. 30 metres in a north-westerly direction.

6. To introduce No stopping Mon - Sat 8am - 5pm except buses” on the following length of road:

A     Clapham Road, Bedford

(i)    On its north-eastern kerb, from a point approx. 39 metres north-west of the centre of Slade Walk for a distance of approx. 33 metres in a north-westerly direction.
