U1189 New Lane and C143 Gorse Lane - Prohibition of Through Traffic to Allow Service Provision Works
What is happening?
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(U1189 NEW LANE AND C143 GORSE LANE, TARLETON, WEST LANCASHIRE BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of highway in the West Lancashire Borough:-
i. U1189 New Lane, Tarleton from C143 Gorse Lane, Tarleton to U1190 Sword Meanygate, Tarleton.
ii. C143 Gorse Lane, Tarleton from U1191 Johnsons Meanygate, Tarleton to the property named Orchard Lea House.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0930 hours until 1530 hours on Sunday 12th May 2024 or until completion of the works within this period. Access will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.
4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closures is via:- C144 Taylors Meanygate, Tarleton – C144 Green Lane, Mere Brow – C145 Blackgate Lane, Tarleton – C142 Church Road, Tarleton – C143 Gorse Lane, Tarleton U1191 Johnson Meanygate, Tarleton – U1186 Middle Meanygate, Tarleton and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow service provision works to be carried out by Sunbelt Rentals UK on behalf of BT.
