NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF ORDER

SECTION 118 HIGHWAYS ACT 1980

THE STAFFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (SHENSTONE UNRECORDED FOOTPATH BETWEEN WATLING STREET AND PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO 22 SHENSTONE PARISH) EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER 2023

On 30th April 2024, Staffordshire County Council confirmed the above Order made under section 118 of the Highways Act 1980 without modification.

The effect of the Order, as confirmed, will extinguish a length of unrecorded footpath totalling approximately 1.29 kilometres in the District of Lichfield, Staffordshire, north of Shenstone, commencing at public footpath no.22 Shenstone Parish approximately 120 metres north of the Crane Brook (NGR 410868,305213, point A on the map), proceeding in a generally north-northeasterly direction for approximately 830 metres. Then running adjacent to the west side of the unadopted track known as Stockings Lane in a northerly direction for approximately 148 metres then in a generally north-north-easterly direction for approximately 303 metres to its terminus at Watling Street east of Wall, approximately 105 metres east of the railway over-bridge (NGR 411133,306466, point B on the map).

A copy of the confirmed Order and Map has been deposited and may be seen free of charge at the offices of Lichfield District Council, District Council House, Frog Lane, Lichfield, Staffordshire WS13 6YU and at Staffordshire County Council Reception, Staffordshire Place 1, Tipping Street, Stafford, ST16 2LP Mondays to Fridays during normal working hours. Copies of the Order and the Map may be purchased.

The Order came into force on 30th April 2024, but if a person aggrieved by the Order wishes to question its validity or any provision contained within it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highway Act 1980 as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, they may under Paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by Paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act within six weeks from the date of publication of this Notice make an application to the High Court.
