Essex, Multiple Temporary Road Closures and Traffic Restrictions due to an Event.

(Various Roads) (Ford Ride London Classique-2024) (Special Event)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council has made the various orders under section 16 (A-C) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the Order

1. STAGE 3:

To temporarily close the following roads in the District of Epping Forest. The closures will commence 26 May 2024 between the hours of 00:01 and 23:59 - Ride London 60

STAGE 3:

2. To temporarily close the following roads in the Districts of Uttlesford, Braintree, and Epping Forest, the Borough of Brentwood, and the City of Chelmsford. The closures will commence 26 May 2024 between the hours of 00:01 and 23:59 - Ride London 100

3. To temporarily close the following roads in the City of Chelmsford, District of Epping Forest Districts of Uttlesford, Braintree. The closures will commence 26 May 2024 between the hours of 00:01 and 23:59 - These roads are off the riding route.

4. The following Orders will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'Clearway' (no stopping) restriction on both sides of all roads in the above schedules and suspend any existing parking and waiting restriction. The restrictions will be in place between 00:01 and 23:59.

(On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019

(Chelmsford City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and

(On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 201

(Uttlesford District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and

(On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019

(Braintree District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and

(On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019

(Brentwood Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and

(On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019

All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Orders and Amendments to those Orders shall remain in force.

Provisions relating to speed limits either by Order or by virtue of street lighting (Restricted Roads) are hereby suspended on the roads specified in above Schedules hereto in so far as they relate to any vehicle used in conjunction with the Ride London 30, 60 and 100 Essex Mass Participation Special Event.

Additional streets and lengths of streets may also be closed at the direction of a police constable in uniform, or a person authorised by Essex Police, to facilitate alternative routes.

The restrictions will be in force on the 26 May 2024 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting and are required to facilitate the Ford Ride London Classique 2024 Event. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times during the closures. Pedestrian access to residential properties on or adjacent to the road will be permitted.

The Orders will come into effect on 24 May 2024 and will remain in place for the duration of the Ford Ride London Classique 2024 Event.
