What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(CARRIAGEWAY PATHCHING, NETHERFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024 (G24-065)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Netherfield in the Borough of Gedling.

The effects of the Order will be:

1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road: -

a. Ashwell Street - from its junction with Moor Street in a south westerly direction for a distance of 200 metres.

b. Knight Street - from its junction with Carnarvon Street to its junction with Meadow Road.

c. Moor Street - from its junction with Bourne Street to its junction with Meadow Road.

2. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting, loading and unloading (Both sides, 08:00-15:30) in the following length of road: -

a. Ashwell Street - from its junction with Moor Street in a south westerly direction for a distance of 200 metres.

b. Knight Street - from its junction with Carnarvon Street to its junction with Meadow Road.

c. Moor Street - from its junction with Bourne Street to its junction with Meadow Road.

3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.

4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:

Ashwell Street - From 08:00 hours on Thursday 23rd May 2024 Until 15:30 hours on Wednesday 29th May 2024

Knight Street - From 08:00 hours on Thursday 30th May 2024 Until 15:30 hours on Thursday 6th June 2024

Moor Street - From 08:00 hours on Friday 7th June 2024 Until 15:30 hours on Thursday 13th June 2024

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:

Ashwell Street - Knight Street - Carnarvon Street - Moor Street and vice versa.

Knight Street - Carnarvon Street - Moor Street - Meadow Road and vice versa.

Moor Street - Meadow Road - Knight Street - Bourne Street and vice versa.

The Order will come into force on Thursday 23rd May 2024 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands to carry out large scale patching repairs.
