Luton - Multiple Traffic Notices
What is happening?
THE BOROUGH OF LUTON (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND LOADING) (CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT NO.**) ORDER 2024. THE BOROUGH OF LUTON (STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT NO.**) ORDER 2024. THE BOROUGH OF LUTON (SPEED LIMITS) (CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT NO.**) ORDER 2024. THE BOROUGH OF LUTON (OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT NO.**) ORDER 2024.
NOTICE is hereby given that Luton Borough Council, the Highway Authority for the said Borough, intends to make the above Orders under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
The general effect of the Orders will be to:
1. Introduce various lengths of No Waiting at Any Time restrictions on Bilton Way, Bloomfield Avenue, Buchanan Drive, Butterfield Road, Corncastle Road, Croft Road, Grantham Road, Hallwicks Road, Icknield Way, Lancrets Path, Newark Road, Northdrift Way, Somerset Avenue, South Drift Way, Wauluds Bank Drive, Whipperley Way, Whitefield Avenue, Wycombe Way.
2. Introduce a length of No waiting Monday to Friday 10am to 12pm restriction on Beechwood Road.
3. Introduce a length of No waiting Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm restriction at the junction of Beverley Road and Connaught Road.
4. Introduce lengths of No waiting Monday to Friday 8am to 10am and 2:30pm to 4:30pm restriction at the junction of Alpine Way and Cranbrook Drive.
5. Revoke and remove Kelvin Close from Controlled Parking Zone KC, and insert Kelvin Close into Controlled Parking Zone PT, the controlled parking zone PT operates Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm.
6. Revoke and remove on Hitchin Road outside property No’s 615/617 a length of No Waiting at Any Time restriction, and introduce in its place a loading bay maximum stay 30 minutes with No return within 1 hour.
7. Introduce a 20mph speed restriction on Lygetun Drive the length from its roundabout junction with Northwell Drive to its junction with Brompton Close, and on Mussons Path the whole length.
8. Introduce permit holder only car parks in operation at all times on Adelaide Street, Dunstable Place, Regent Street, Victoria Street.
9. Correct an anomaly between on-street restrictions and the map based plan for Alma Street with no change to markings and signage on-street.
