Cumwhitton, Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Due To Utility Works
What is happening?
Cumberland Council (U1189 And Ci026 Near Cumwhitton) (Temporary Prohibition Of All Traffic) Order 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along the following sections of road:
1. U 1189, near Cumwhitton, from its junction with the C1026, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 350m.
There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.
2. C1026, near Cumwhitton, for a distance of approx. 70m either side of the centre line of the junction with the U1189.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C1026, C1027 and C1039 Hornsby Gate.

The Order will come into operation on 20 May 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 2 weeks and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
