What is happening?

(DRUMMAU ROAD, SKEWEN) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from driving on the length of road set out in the Schedule below whilst the Order is in force. During such periods as are indicated by traffic signs informing the public that the road is closed.
The Order is necessary to enable Openreach to undertake civil engineering works in the highway and for the Highway Authority to carry out subsequent Highway works in the road.
The Order will come into force on the 26th May 2024 and shall continue in force for a maximum duration of 18 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner. 
It is estimated the work will take 1 day to complete.
 
SCHEDULE
Drummau Road will be closed from the junction of Drummau Park in a westerly direction for a distance approximately 1.2km along its length.
The alternate route for vehicular traffic will be via the unaffected section of Drummau Road, B4291 Birchgrove Road, A4230 Park Avenue, Sidings Terrace and New Road, Skewen Similarly, this route will operate in a reverse direction.
Access for pedestrian and emergency vehicles will be maintained.
