PUBLIC NOTICE

 THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL (WOOD END ROAD/ NEWHAMPTON ROAD WEST/NEWHAMPTON ROAD EAST/JEFFCOCK ROAD/GREAT WESTERN STREET) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on the following stretches of road: · Wood End Road closed in both directions between its junctions with Blackhalve Lane and Linthouse Lane/Lower Prestwood Road. Vehicular Diversion Route: Blackhalve Lane, Long Knowle Lane, Lower Prestwood Road and vice versa · Wood End Road closed in both directions between its junctions with Linthouse Lane/Lower Prestwood Road and Amos Lane. Vehicular Diversion Route: Amos Lane, Lower Prestwood Road and vice versa. Only one section closed at any one time It is anticipated that the above closures will operate between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 on 28 May 2024 and 29 May 2024, and again between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 on 1 June 2024 and 2 June 2024. · Newhampton Road West closed its entire length in both directions. · Newhampton Road East closed its entire length in both directions. Only one section closed at any one time. Vehicular Diversion Routes: Tettenhall Road, Chapel Ash, Ring Road, Waterloo Road and vice versa. Hunter Street, Hordern Road, Aldersley Road, Lower Street, Tettenhall Road and vice versa. 

It is anticipated that the above closures will be in place between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 on 28 May 2024 and 29 May 2024, and again between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 on 1 June 2024 and 2 June 2024. · Jeffcock Road closed its entire length in both directions. Vehicular Diversion Route: Bradmore Road, Birches Barn Road, Lea Road and vice versa. It is anticipated that the above closure will be in place between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 on 6 June 2024 and 7 June 2024, and again between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 on 12 June 2024 and 13 June 2024. · Great Western Street closed its entire length in both directions. Access/Egress maintained. It is anticipated that the above closure will be in place between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 on 9 September 2024 and 10 September 2024. The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months, but it is anticipated that the works will be undertaken on the dates detailed above at the times specified. 

The Order is required to facilitate carriageway surface dressing and surface treatment by City of Wolverhampton Council.
