(20 MPH ZONE) (VARIOUS ROADS, BARTON & TREDWORTH AREA) (GLOUCESTER CITY) ORDER 2024

Notice is hereby given that Gloucestershire County Council in exercise of its enabling powers under Section 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 proposes to make the above-named order the effect of which will be:

1) To prohibit the driving of any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 20mph on various roads in the Barton & Tredworth area of Gloucester. This is primarily an administrative exercise to ensure that the designation of the traffic order matches the signage and extents of the existing 20mph speed zone signed on street.

2) To revoke the existing GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (BARTON STREET) (20MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2010 & THE CITY OF GLOUCESTER (BARTON & TREDWORTH AREA) (20MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2004 and include the roads cited within it within this new Order.

The extents of the proposed 20mph Zone will be introduced on the roads below as follows:

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE OF C205 GREENHOUSE LANE (PAINSWICK PARISH) STROUD DISTRICT

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the C205 Greenhouse Lane, from outside the property known as ‘’No.6 Greenhouse Lane’ to outside the property known as ’Brookhouse Mill’, for a distance of approximately 30 metres. The reason for the said closure is for works by Severn Trent Water. The said road is expected to be closed from 20th May 2024 to 22nd May 2024 only or until the works have been completed. The reason for the closure is for replacement of defective manhole frame and cover. The said road is expected to be closed between the hours of 07:00am and 16:00pm on 21st May 2024 only or until the works have been completed. The reason for the closure is for water and drainage apparatus connection works. The road is expected to be closed from 08:00hrs on 28th May 2024 until 17:00 pm 31st May 2024 only or until the works have been completed. TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PUBLIC FOOTPATH ZGL 116 AND UNCLASSIFIED FOOTWAY AND SUBWAY FROM GEORGE STREET TO GREAT WESTERN ROAD (WESTGATE WARD) GLOUCESTER CITY

NOTICE is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport has extended the time period for the Order to temporarily close under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) part of Public Footpath ZGL 116, and the Unclassified Footway and Subway from George Street to Great Western Road; (68034) in the Ward of Westgate, Gloucester City from its junction with Station Approach/Car Park in a generally north easterly direction for a distance of approximately 100 metres to its junction with Great Western Road. The said public footpath, and unclassified footway and subway, fall within the Westgate Ward in the City of Gloucester within the County of Gloucestershire. The said closure is necessary to safeguard the public whilst improvement works are undertaken. The said public footpath, and unclassified footway and subway, was originally closed by Order, commencing 12th January 2023, and subsequently further extended until 12th July 2024. However, as the said improvement works will not be completed by this date, the Secretary of State has now granted a further extension of the Order until 12th January 2025 or until the completion of the works, whichever was the earlier.
