What is happening?

(VARIOUS ROADS IN NEATH PORT TALBOT COUNTY BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES) No.2 ORDER 2024
NOTICE is hereby given that Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from driving on the roads set out in the Schedule below whilst the Order is in force. During such periods as are indicated by traffic signs informing the public that the roads are closed.
The Order is necessary to enable the Highway Authority to carry out resurfacing works and highway maintenance works in the roads.
The Order will come into force on the 20th May 2024 and shall continue in force for a maximum duration of 18 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner. It is estimated that each of the closures will take 3 days to complete.
SCHEDULE
A4607 from Ynysmeudwy to Godre’r Graig will be closed from the junction of Graig Newydd in a westerly direction for approximately 100m along its length. The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the unaffected section of A4067, B4599, Station Road Club Lane, Station Road, Neath Road, Starvin Hill, A4109, Aberdulais Roundabout, A4230, A474, A474 Roundabouts, A4067 Roundabout and the other unaffected area of the A4067.
A4107 Afan Road, Cymmer will be closed from outside Afan Workshop on Afan Road in a westerly direction for approximately 1.1km along its length. The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the A4107 Brytwn Road to A4107 Station Road, A4063 Maesteg Road, A4067 Talbot Street, B4282 Neath Road, Maesteg Road, Bryngyrnos Street and to the end of B4282 and A4107 Afan Valley Road.
Bridge Street to Dunraven Street Lane, Glyncorrwg will be closed in its entirety. The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be Dunraven Street, Cymmer Road and Bridge Street.
Broad Street, Port Talbot will be closed from the junction of Talbot Road in an easterly direction for approximately 60m along its length. The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be Talbot Road, Talcennau Road and Devonshire Place.
Broad Street to Eagle Street Link Lane Port Talbot will be closed from the junction of Broad Street in a northerly to the junction of Eagle Street.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic to Broad Street and Beverley Street will be Talbot Road, Talcennau Road, Devonshire Road, Broad Street, York Street and Beverley Street.
|Glais Road, Alltwen will be closed from the Glais Road Bridge (County Boundary) in an easterly direction for approximately 300m along its length.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be the remaining unaffected section of Glais Road, Ynys Y Mond Road, Gwyn Street, Gwyn’s Place, Alltwen Hill, Alltwen Roundabout, A474 Roundabout, A4067 Roundabout, A4067 Birchgrove Roundabout, B4291 Birchgrove Road, Ynys Y Mond Road and Glais Road.
Glannant Way, Cimla will be closed for approximately 250m between the junctions to Mackworth Drive and Y Berllan.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be Mackworth Drive, Heol Y Ffynon, Heol Derwen and the unaffected section of Glannant Way.
Geoffrey Street, Neath will be closed in its entirety.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic travelling north along Eastland Road from Stockhomes Corner will be via Eastland Road, Arthur Street and London Road.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic travelling south along Eastland Road from Cimla Road will be Eastland Road, Stockhom to Windsor Road Roundabout, back along Eastland Road, Arthur Street and London Road.
A4241 Harbourside Road will be closed for the junction of Heilbronn Way in a southerly direction to the approximately 600m along its length.
|A4241 Harbour Road will be closed for the junction of Water Street in a southerly direction to the approximately 420m along its length.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be Afan Way Roundabout, Water Street, A48 Heilbronn Way, Talbot Road, Commercial Road, Margam Road, A48 and Harbour Way Roundabout and Harbour Way.
Hopkins Street, Aberavon will be closed in its entirety.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be Dunraven Street, Rees Street and Newton Avenue. Jersey Road, Gwynfi will be closed from the junction to Park Lane in a westerly direction for approximately 350m along its length.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via Station Road, Commercial Street, A4107 Graig Road, Heol Treharne, C260 from Heol Treharne to Jersey Road and the unaffected section of Jersey Road.
Millborough Road, Ystalyfera will be closed for approximately 100m in an Easterly direction from the junction to Alltygrug Road.
The “One Way Traffic” Order on Tanywern Lane, Ystalyfera will be revoked for the duration of the closure from the junction of Alltygrug Road in a southerly direction to the junction of Millborough Road.
The “One Way Traffic” Order on Millborough Road, Ystalyfera will be revoked for the duration of the closure from the junction of Tanywern Lane in a westerly direction to No. 4 Millborough Road.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will Alltygrug Road, Tanywern Lane, the remaining unaffected area of Millborough Road, Commercial Street and back to Alltygrug Road.
A4109 Neath Road, Crynant will be closed from the junction to Mary Street in a northerly direction to the junction to Station Road.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be A4109 Main Road, Pen Y Bont Terrace, Dulais Road, Onllwyn Road,
Intervalley Road, Heol Y Glyn, A465 and A4109 New Road.
A4069 Brynamman Road will be closed from the junction of Heol Cae Gurwen in a northerly direction for approximately 200m along its length.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the unaffected section of A4069, A4068, A4067 and A474.
|New Road, Gwuan Cae Gurwen will be closed from the junction A4069 Brynamman Road in an easterly direction for approximately 300m along its length.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via Clwyd Road, Upper Colbren Road, Heol Cae Gurwen.
|School Road, Tonna will be closed in its entirety.
There will be no alternative route for vehicular traffic.
|The Uplands, Port Talbot will be closed in its entirety.
There will be no alternative route for vehicular traffic.
|Ty Llwyd & Wernddu, Bryncoch will be closed from the junction of Farmers Road in a northerly direction for approximately 3.8km along its length.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be Farmers Road, Main Road, A474 Neath Road, New Road, Pen Yr Alltwen, Bryn Llewelyn, Alltwen Hill, Gwyns Place, Gwyn Street, Ynys Y Mond Road and Wernddu Road.
Willow Grove and Maes Ty Canol, Baglan will be closed from the junction of Laurel Avenue in a southerly direction to the junction of Crofton Drive.
Rosewood Avenue will also be closed in its entirety for the duration of the works on Willow Grove.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic travelling East along Lodge Drive will be via Lodge Drive, Fairwood Drive, Wells Road and Church Road, St Illtyds Drive, Tyn Y Twr and Maes Ty Canol.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic travelling south from Maes Ty Canol will be via Maes Ty Canol, Tyn Y Twr, St Illtyds Drive, Church Road Wells Road and Fairwood Drive.
Winfred Road, Coedffranc Central will be closed from the junction of New Road in a southerly direction to the junction of Wern Road.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic via New Road, Old Road, Burrows Road, Pen Yr Alley Avenue and Wern Road.
Ynysygwas Hill, Cwmavon will be closed from the junction A4107 Afan Valley Road in a northerly direction for approximately 100m along its length.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic travelling South from A4107 & B4282 will be via A4107 Afan Valley Road, Lletti Harri, Pen Y Cae Road, Tan y Groes Strret, Abbey Road, A48 Talbot Road, Heilbronn Way and B4286 Cwmavon Road, High Street Ty’r Owen Row Depot Road, Salem Road, Maes Y Bettws and B4287 Queen Street.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic travelling north from Port Talbot on B4286 Cwmavon Road via B4286 Cwmavon Road, High Street Ty’r Owen Row Depot Road, Salem Road, Maes Y Bettws and B4287 Queen Street.
A4107 Afan Valley Road, Cwmavon will be closed 100m south of the junction of Ynysywas Hill in a northerly direction for approximately 200m along its length.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic travelling north from Port Talbot on Pen Y Cae Road will be via A4107 Tan Y Groes Street, Abbey Road, A48 Talbot Road, Heilbronn Way and Cwmavon Road.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic travelling west from Bryn to Port Talbot will be via B4282, A4063, A473 and A48.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic travelling South from Afan Valley and Pontrhydyfen will be via B4287 Queen Street.
B4286 Dan Y Bont, Maes Y Bettws, Salem Road, Depot Road, Ty’r Owen Row, High Street, Cwmavon Road, A48 Heilbronn Way, Talbot Road and A4107 Abbey Road.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic travelling North from Port Talbot to Maesteg on Pen Y Cae Road will be via A4107, A48, A473 and A4063.
