ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (Public Footpath Bexhill 32b, Bexhill 67a, Bexhill 67b, Bexhill 68a, Bexhill 68b, Bexhill 85a (part), Bexhill 85b) (Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2023

To protect public safety during the construction of a housing development, the Secretary of State has extended the above East Sussex County Council’s Order made on 10 November 2023 under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following footpath:

Temporary Footpath Closure

The whole of Public Footpaths Bexhill 32b, Bexhill 67a, Bexhill 67b, Bexhill 68a, Bexhill 68b and Bexhill 85b will be closed to all users. An alternative route will be available for Bexhill 32b as signed on the ground.

Part of Public Footpath Bexhill 85a will be closed to all users between TQ 7552 0910 and TQ 7543 0897 for a distance of 160 metres. An alternative route will be available for Bexhill 85a as signed on the ground.

The closure will be in force for 18 months from 20 May 2024, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier, which after this period will require an extension from the Secretary of State, should the footpaths still be unavailable to use. NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF AN ORDER

HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

THE EAST SUSSEX

(Public Footpath Westfield 13 (part)) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2024

The above Order was made on 19 April 2024 and confirmed on 17 May 2024 without modifications, under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.

The order will divert public footpath Westfield 13 from TQ 8125 1652 running in a generally north-easterly direction for 138.5 metres to TQ 8132 1663 (A-B on the order map), then in a generally east then south-easterly direction for 144.5 metres to TQ 8147 1661 (B-C on the order map); to a new route having a width of 3 metres and running from TQ 8125 1652 in a generally north-easterly direction for 54.5 metres to TQ 8128 1657 (A-D on order map), then in a generally east north-easterly direction for 193 metres to TQ 8147 1661 (D-E-F-C on order map).

A copy of the Order and Order Map and an explanatory statement have been deposited and can be inspected free of charge in Main Reception, County Council, County Hall, St Anne’s Crescent, Lewes Mondays to Fridays between 9.00am and 4.00pm and at Rother District Council’s Offices, Town Hall, London Road, Bexhill-on-Sea, TN39 3JX during office opening times.

The Order comes into force on 14 June 2024, but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 17 May 2024, make an application to the High Court.

The above Order was made on 10th May 2024, under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and Section 53a(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.

The Order will divert part of public footpath Battle 18 from TQ 7332 1666, running in a north-westerly direction for 140 metres to TQ 7319 1671, then in a south-westerly and west south-westerly direction for 93 metres to TQ 7311 1668 (A-B-C on the Order Map), to a new route having a width of 4.0 metres, running from TQ 7332 1666 in a northwesterly direction for 53 metres to TQ 7328 1669, then in a north north-easterly direction for 17 metres to TQ 7328 1671, then in a west north-westerly direction for 94 metres to TQ 7319 1673, then in a north north-easterly direction for 9 metres to TQ 7320 1674, then in a generally south-westerly direction for 118 metres to TQ 7311 1668 (A-D-E-FG-C on the Order map).

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the East Sussex County Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.

The East Sussex (B2244 Sandrock Hill, Sedlescombe) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Sandrock Hill – from the junction with B2244 The Street to the junction with B2244 Hawkhurst Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2244 The Street, Tollgate Road – A21(T) New Road, Hastings Road, Woodmans Green Road – B2089 Park Lane, Hooks Beech, Swailes Green – B2165 Cripps Corner Road – B2244 Compasses, Hawkhurst Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 20 May 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 20 May 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C345 Church Road, Catsfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended,

which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Church Road – from the junction with C703 Potmans Lane to the junction with C345 Church Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C345 Church Lane – B2204 The Green – C27 Powdermill Lane – A2100 Lower Lake, Battle Hill, Hastings Road – C93 Telham Lane, Forewood Lane – C307 Ballards Hill, Catsfield Road, Crowhurst Road – C345 Church Road and vice versa. The Order commenced 13 February 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. The East Sussex (C22 The Moor, Westfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

The Order commences 20 May 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. The East Sussex (U6559 Wilton Road, Bexhill) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Wilton Road – from the junction with B2182 Marina to the junction with U6559 St Leonards Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2182 Marina, Sea Road – U6559 St Leonards Road.

The Order commences 4 June 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 4 June 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Archery Road – outside 14 Archery Court.

The Order commences 6 June 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. The Order commences 5 June 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 5 June 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.
