What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (U2120 Mill Gap Road, Eastbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow Gensy’s t/a RTM Traffic Management to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Mill Gap Road – from the junction with U2120 Carew Road to the junction with A2021 Prideaux Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A2021 Prideaux Road – U2111 Prideaux Road – U2115 Ashburnham Road – U2120 Carew Road.

The Order commences 3 June 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 3 and 30 June 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.
