B290 Epsom Lane North, Epsom Downs - Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic To Facilitate Footway Slurry Works
What is happening?
B290 Epsom Lane North, Epsom Downs Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of B290 Epsom Lane North, Epsom Downs which extends from its junction with Tattenham Crescent to its junction with Kingswood Road. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate footway slurry works and/ or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 3 June 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Alternative Route – B2221 Tattenham Crescent, B2221 Great Tattenhams, A240 Reigate Road, A217 Brighton Road, B2220 Tadworth Street, B290 Station Approach, B290 Cross Road, B290 Ashurst Road and B290 Epsom Lane North.
D310 Wonham Lane, Betchworth Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of D310 Wonham Lane, Betchworth. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate surface dressing works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 3 June 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Tanyard Way (D1095) Horley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Tanyard Way (D1095) Horley which extends from the northern property boundary line of “21 Tanyard Way” to the southern property boundary line of “62 Tanyard Way”. Alternative Route – Fallowfield Way (D1095), Wheatfield Way (D1095) and Langshott (D336) or the same route in reverse. This Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works, which is anticipated to be completed within 5 days, between 8:00am and 5:00pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 03 June 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Public Footpath 392 (Horley/Salfords & Sidlow) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 392 (Horley/Salfords & Sidlow) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023 was made due to a likelihood of danger to the public caused by the surface of the railway crossing becoming damaged and unsafe.
The Order came into operation on 10 November 2023 and was due to expire on 10 May 2024. It has now been extended by the Secretary of State for Transport to allow for repairs to be carried out, until 10 May 2025 or the completion of works, whichever is earlier.
The Order, as continued, will have the effect of prohibiting all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Footpath 392 (Horley/Salfords & Sidlow) where it crosses the railway line, for approximately 180 metres to the east of its junction with the A23/Bonehurst Road, Horley (Grid ref. 528596, 144843).
The temporary closure will only be in operation while appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
The alternative route from the western end of the closure will be: Turn around and proceed in a south-westerly direction to reach A23/ Bonehurst Road. Turn left onto Bonehurst Road and proceed in a southerly direction to reach the junction with Ladbroke Road. Turn left onto Ladbroke Road and proceed along Ladbroke Road, then Langshott in an easterly direction to reach the junction with Orchard Drive. Turn right onto Orchard Drive and proceed in a northerly direction to reach the junction with Footpath 392. Turn left onto Footpath 392 and proceed in a westerly direction to reach the eastern end of the closure. The alternative route from the eastern end of the closure will be the reverse of the above.
