What is happening?

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A119 AMWELL END, WARE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A119 Amwell End, Ware from its junction with A119 London Road north eastwards to its junction with Station Road, a distance of approximately 41m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via A119 London Road, A1170 (Viaduct Road/ Bridge Foot) and A119 Amwell End or via A119 London Road, A1170 Viaduct Road and Station Road.

The Order is needed because level crossing maintenance works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 31 May 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PAYNES HALL ROAD, HERTFORD) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Paynes Hall Road, Hertford from its junction with A602 Westmill Road north eastwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 286m (“the Road”), except for access.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 3 June 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN HERTFORD AND WARE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. the A10 northbound slip road leading onto the A602 Westmill Road/ B1001 Westmill Road roundabout, Hertford from its junction with the northbound carriageway of A10 (unnamed road) north eastwards to its junction with the A602 Westmill Road/B1001 Westmill Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 496m.

An alternative route will be via A10 (unnamed road/Wadesmill Bypass), A1170 Wadesmill Road and A10 (unnamed road).

2. the A10 northbound slip road leading from the A602 Westmill Road/ B1001 Westmill Road roundabout, Ware from its junction with the A602 Westmill Road/B1001 Westmill Road roundabout north eastwards to its junction with the northbound carriageway of A10 (unnamed road), a distance of approximately 621m.

An alternative route will be via the A602 Westmill Road/B1001 Westmill Road roundabout, A10 (unnamed road), the A414 Rush Green roundabout and A10 (unnamed road).

3. the A10 southbound slip road leading onto the A602 Westmill Road/ B1001 Westmill Road roundabout, Ware from its junction with the southbound carriageway of A10 (unnamed road) south westwards to its junction with the A602 Westmill Road/B1001 Westmill Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 484m.

An alternative route will be via A10 (unnamed road), the A414 Rush Green roundabout and A10 (unnamed road).

4. the A10 southbound slip road from the A602 Westmill Road/B1001 Westmill Road roundabout, Ware from its junction with the A602 Westmill Road/B1001 Westmill Road roundabout south westwards to its junction with the southbound carriageway of A10 (unnamed road), a distance of approximately 722m.

An alternative route will be via the A602 Westmill Road/B1001 Westmill Road roundabout, A10 (unnamed road/Wadesmill Bypass), A1170 Wadesmill Road and A10 (unnamed road).

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 3 June 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN HERTFORD HEATH, WATTON AT STONE, COTTERED AND WYDDIAL) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:-

1. that length of Church Hill, Hertford Heath from its junction with B1197 London Road eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with Woodland Road, a distance of approximately 59m.

An alternative route will be via B1197 London Road, Vicarage Causeway and Church Hill.

2. that length of High Elms Lane, Watton at Stone from its junction with Walkern Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 250m.

An alternative route will be via Walkern Road, High Street, A602 Watton at Stone Bypass, Mill Lane, Whempstead Road and High Elms Lane.

3. that length of Warren Lane, Cottered from its junction with B1037 (unnamed road) south eastwards, south westwards and south eastwards, to its junction with Spring Lane , a distance of approximately 1348m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

4. that length of Wyddial Road, Wyddial from its junction with Vicarage Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 2410m.

An alternative route will be via Vicarage Road, Ermine Street, A10 Buntingford Bypass, B1038 (Baldock Road/High Street/Hare Street Road/ unnamed road), B1368 (unnamed road), C12 (unnamed road) and Wyddial Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 20 May 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HAILEY LANE, HODDESDON) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Hailey Lane, Hoddesdon from its junction with Springle Lane north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with the A1170 Ware Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 262m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Hailey Lane, B1197 (London Road/ Hertford Road) and A1170 Ware Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 23 May 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A414 FIFTH AVENUE, HARLOW AND EASTWICK ROAD, EASTWICK) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) :-

1. that length of A414 Fifth Avenue, Harlow from its junction with the A414 Eastwick Avenue roundabout south eastwards for a distance of approximately 70m.

An alternative route will be via A414 Eastwick Avenue, A1170 (Pepper Hill/ Amwell Hill/London Road/Viaduct Road/Bridge Foot/High Street/Baldock Street/Wadesmill Road), A10 Wadesmill Bypass, A120 (Standon Hill/ Kents Lane/Stortford Road/Standon Road), Standon Road, Stortford Road, Hadham Road, A120 Hadham Road, A1184 (Bishops Park Way/St James Way/ London Road/Cambridge Road/London Road/Bonks Hill/Harlow Road/ Cambridge Road) and A414 (Edinburgh Way/Fifth Avenue) or via A414 (Fifth Avenue/Edinburgh Way), A1184 (Cambridge Road/Harlow Road/ Bonks Hill/London Road/Cambridge Road/London Road/St James Way/ Bishops Park Way), A120 Hadham Road, Hadham Road, Stortford Road, Standon Road, A120 (Standon Road/Stortford Road/Kents Lane/Standon Hill), A10 (Wadesmill Bypass/unnamed road), A1170 (Wadesmill Road/ Baldock Street/High Street/Bridge Foot/Viaduct Road/London Road/ Amwell Hill/Pepper Hill) and A414 Eastwick Avenue.

2. that length of Eastwick Road, Eastwick from its junction with the A414 Fifth Avenue roundabout north eastwards for a distance of approximately 200m.

An alternative route will be via A414 (Fifth Avenue/Edinburgh Way), A1184 Cambridge Road/Harlow Road), High Wych Road, Pye Corner and Eastwick Road.

The Order is needed because survey works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 22 May 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF THE EXISTING PROHIBITION OF DRIVING ORDER ON THE EAST SIDE OF B176 HIGH STREET, WALTHAM CROSS) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to temporarily suspend the existing prohibition of driving (except buses and pedal cycles) Order on the east side of B176 High Street, Waltham Cross from a point 13 metres south east of its junction with Trinity Lane south eastwards for a distance of approximately 238 metres (“the Road”), to enable all vehicles to use this length of Road, whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and it will come into force on 20 May 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
