Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 15 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Park Lane (D2628) Ashtead which extends from its junction with Chalk Lane (X15245) to its junction with Dene Road (D2337).

Alternative Route – Farm Lane (C56), Headley Road (C56), Tilley Lane (C56), Clay Lane (C56), Church Lane (C56), Tot Hill (B2033), Leech Lane(B2033), Mill Way (B2033), Reigate Road (B2033), By-Pass Road (A24), Leatherhead Road (A24), The Street (A24) and Park Lane (D2628) or the same route in reverse.

The Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 9:30am and 3:30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 19 May 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Bones Lane (C66) Newchapel
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 15 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Bones Lane (C66) Newchapel as extends from its junction with (B2028) West Park Road to its junction with (D373) Brickhouse Lane.

Alternative Route: Bones Lane, Croydon Barn Lane, Smallfield Road, Plough Road, Redehall Road, (B2037) Effingham Road, and (B2028) West Park Road, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to facilitate installation of new electrical connection works for, or on behalf of UKPN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 28 May 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.

Extension to the Surrey County Council Crossoak Lane (D356) Salfords
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

“The Surrey County Council Crossoak Lane (D356) Salfords Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023”, which was made under Section 14(1) and 15(8)(B) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, on the grounds that works were being or proposed to be executed on, or near, the above-mentioned road and came into operation on 29 May 2023 was due to expire on 28 May 2024 and which prohibited vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Crossoak Lane (D356) Salfords from its junction with (A23) Bonehurst Road to its junction with (D1311) Orchard Drive has been extended by Surrey County Council until 28 November 2024.

This Temporary Traffic Order is required to allow highway improvement and/or maintenance works and/or any other associated works to be carried out for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council.

These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible within the additional 6-month period operation of this Temporary Traffic Order which commenced on 28 May 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road including access by emergency vehicles to these properties will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route. All other traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.

During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.

Alternative Route: a) Crossoak Lane (NB Height restriction of 13’9”), Picketts Lane, Honey Crock Lane, and Brighton Road, or this route in reverse; and b) Bonehurst Road, Ladbroke Road, Langshott (NB Height restriction of 11’6”), and Orchard Drive, or this route in reverse.

How Lane (D1080) Chipstead
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 15 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and (7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) How Lane (D1080) Chipstead which extends from its junction with Bouverie Road (D1079) to its junction with the property known as “Woodlands Deer Farm”; (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council How Lane (D1080) Chipstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024” in its entirety; and (c) Suspend “The Surrey County Council How Lane (D1080) Chipstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2023” in its entirety.

Alternative Route – High Road (C136), Hazelwood Lane (C137), Outwood Lane (B2032) and How Lane (D1080) or the same route in reverse. 

This Order is required to allow SGN to carry out gas utility works, which is anticipated to be completed within 5 days, between 8:00am and 4:00pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 20 May 2024.

Broadbridge Lane (D356) Smallfield
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 15 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Broadbridge Lane (D356) Smallfield which extends from its junction with Church Road (D362) to its junction with Redehall Road (C67).

Alternative Route – Weatherhill Road (C66) and Redehall Road (C67) or the same route in reverse.

This Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works which is anticipated to be completed within 5 days, between 9:30am and 3:30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 27 May 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.

D1262 Alpine Road, Redhill and D1169 Sutton Gardens and D1169 Sunstone Grove, Merstham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 15 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate major maintenance works including but not limited to: fine milling works and/or footway slurry works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 20 May 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.

For part 1: In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period.

1. that length of D1262 Alpine Road, Redhill which extends from its junction with the access road to the Phoenix Centre to its junction with College Crescent.

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 15 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles, cyclists and equestrians from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified and described in the Schedule to this Notice.

This Order is required to enable SGN to facilitate gas main replacement works, which is anticipated to be carried out between 8am and 7pm on weekdays and between 8am and 4pm on weekends, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 20 May 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works, access for emergency service vehicles will not be maintained and will be required to follow the diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises, including emergency service vehicle access, within the length of roads specified or accessible only therefrom may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.

For Bullbeggars Lane, Flower Lane and Church Lane: vehicular access to premises will be maintained where safe to do so. For Salisbury Road: access to premises will not be maintained.

Schedule

1. that length of Salisbury Road (D402) Godstone which extends from its junction with A25 Godstone Road to the property boundary line between Nos.53 and 51 Salisbury Road. Works are anticipated to be carried out between 20/05/24 and 22/07/24.

Alternative Route – High Street, Oxted Road and vice versa; 2. that length of Flower Lane (C72) Godstone which extends from its junction with Oxted Road to a point 300m north of the northernmost side of the Flower Lane Bridge (A22/12) and any parts thereof. Works are anticipated to be carried out between 15/07/24 and 12/08/24.

Alternative Route – Oxted Road, Tandridge Hill Lane and vice versa; 3. the entire length of Church Lane (C72) Godstone. Works are anticipated to be carried out in phases and rolling closures between 05/08/24 and 07/10/24.

Alternative Route 1 – Oxted Road, Eastbourne Road and vice versa; Alternative Route 2 – Oxted Road, High Street, Eastbourne Road and vice versa; 4. the entire length of Bullbeggars Lane (D399) Godstone. Works are anticipated to be carried out between 19/08/24 and 09/09/24. Alternative Route 1 – Church Lane, Oxted Road, Eastbourne Road and vice versa;

Alternative Route 2 – Church Lane, Oxted Road, High Street, Eastbourne Road and vice versa.

D424 Woodhurst Lane, Oxted and C72 Station Road, Woldingham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 15 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

Kings Mill Lane (D355) South Nutfield
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 15 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and (7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; 

(a) Kings Mill Lane (D355) South Nutfield which extends from the northeastern property boundary line of “Dalma House” to the southwestern property boundary line of “Mole Country Stores”; 

(b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Kings Mill Lane (D355) South Nutfield Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024” insofar as it affects that length of road specified in Part (a) of this Notice. Alternative Route – Kings Cross Lane (D381), Crab Hill Lane (D381), Moats Lane (D381), Prince of Wales Road (C67), Green Lane (C65), Axes Lane (C65), Masons Bridge Road (D355) and Kings Mill Lane (D355), or the same route in reverse.

This Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works which is anticipated to be completed within 4 days, between 9:30am and 3:30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 27 May 2024.

D2613 Woodfield Lane, Ashtead
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2024

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D2613 Woodfield Lane, Ashtead that is crossed by the level crossing and for a distance of 10m either side.

The Temporary Traffic Order is required to enable Network Rail/Centurion to carry out inspections and/or maintenance works.

These works are anticipated to be carried out in phases within 7 nights and 2 days of the 12 month period of operation of the Temporary Order which commences on 11 June 2024; between the hours of 12:30am to 5am on 11 June 2024, between the hours of 10pm on 09/08/24 to 4pm on 10/08/24, from 10pm on 10/08/24 to 8am on 11/08/24, from 10pm on 11/08/24 to 5am on 12/08/24, from 10pm on 16/08/24 to 4pm on 17/08/24, from 10pm on 17/08/24 to 8am on 18/08/24, and from 10pm on 18/08/24 to 5am on 19/08/24.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. There is no alternative route for traffic however access for emergency services, residents, businesses, pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.

D355 Three Arch Road, Redhill
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D355 Three Arch Road, Redhill that is crossed by the “Three Arch Road Railway Bridge” and for a distance of 20m either side.

This Traffic Order is required to enable Centurion/Network Rail to carry out brickwork repairs and/or examinations and/or maintenance works to the railway bridge.

These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 10pm and 5am, within 4 nights of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 10 June 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

Access for emergency vehicles, residents, businesses, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times under direction of a marshal. Vehicular diversion route: – Eastbound – Three Arches Road, Horley Road, Brighton Road, Bonehurst Road, Balcombe Road, Smallfield Road, Weatherhill Road, Chapel Road, Rookery Hill, Dayseys Lane, Green Lane, Axes Lane and Masons Bridge Road. Westbound – Masons Bridge Road, Axes Lane, Green Lane, Dayseys Lane, Rookery Hill, Chapel Road, Weatherhill Road, Smallfield Road, Balcombe Road, Brighton Road, Bonehurst Road, Brighton Road, Horley Road and Three Arches Road.

Access for equestrians will be maintained via the equestrian diversion route: – Three Arches Road, Horley Road, Brighton Road, Honeycrock Lane and Masons Bridge Road.

Pixham Lane (B2038) Dorking
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Pixham Lane (B2038) Dorking that is crossed under the bridge known as “Pixham Lane (248 RSJ)” and for a distance of 20 metres either side.

Alternative Route: (B2038) Pixham Lane, (A25) Reigate Road, (A24) Deepdene Avenue, (A24) London Road, and (B2038) Pixham Lane, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to carry out bridge inspection works for, or on behalf of Network Rail.

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 night, between 10pm and 6am, during the 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 10 June 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, as will access for emergency service vehicles. All other vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.

Reigate Road (B2033) Leatherhead
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Reigate Road (B2033) Leatherhead as extends from its junction at the roundabout with (A24) By-pass Road to its junction with (B2033) Mill Way.

Alternative Route: (A24) By-pass Road, (A24) Dorking Road, (A24) London Road, (A24) Mickleham By-pass, (A24) London Road, (A24) Deepdene Avenue, (A25) Reigate Road, (B2032) Station Road, (A2032) Pebble Hill Road, (B2033) Headley Common Road, (B2033) Tot Hill, (B2033) Leech Lane, and Mill Way, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to facilitate tree felling works for, or on behalf of J and G Traffic Ltd.

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days, between the hours of 9.30am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 11 June 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.

Boterys Cross (D390) Bletchingley
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Boterys Cross (D390) Bletchingley.

This Order is required to facilitate replacement telegraph pole works for, or on behalf of I and A Communications.

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 4 days, between the hours of 9am and 4.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 14 June 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.

There is no alternative route for this closure.

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Clacket Lane (C80) Westerham. Alternative Route: Pilgrims Lane, (B2024) Clarks Lane, (B2024) Croydon Road, (A25) High Street, and (A25) Westerham Road, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to facilitate improvement and repair investigation works for, or on behalf of Milestone Infrastructure. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, during the 18-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 11 June 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. No sole access is affected by this closure.

Westway (D1399) Caterham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Westway (D1399) Caterham as extends from its junction with (D1397) Coulsdon Road to its junction with (D1398) Livingstone Road.

Alternative Route: Westway, (B2031) Chaldon Road, and Coulsdon Road, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to facilitate installation of telecom utility works for, or on behalf of TSE Group.

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days, between the hours of 8am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 12 June 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.

Surrey County Council proposes to make the above mentioned Temporary Order, pursuant to Sections 16A and 16B of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) the effect of which will be to (1) Prohibit all vehicles from entering or proceeding along the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice or any parts thereof. Such restriction shall also apply in relation to the riding, leading or driving of horses or any other animals; and (2) Impose a one-way driving restriction in the entire length of Chapel Road (C67) Smallfield, so that all vehicles shall proceed in a northerly direction.

The Order will come into effect on 16 June 2024, for a period of one day, but will only be operative whilst the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

This Order is required to facilitate the holding of an on-road cycling event, namely The British Heart Foundation London to Brighton Bike Ride 2024. The Order will not apply to such pedal cycles or other vehicles being used in connection with the said event, or anything done on the direction, or with the permission, or a police constable in uniform or a traffic marshal, or any sign placed by Surrey Police.

Emergency access will be maintained for the police, fire brigade and ambulance services and for organisations responsible for dealing with the loss of supplies of gas, electricity, water, or electronic communications, to premises in the area and for the removal of any obstruction to traffic. No exemption will apply for disabled persons’ vehicles and all parking places in the lengths of roads specified in this Notice will be suspended. 

Access for residents will be maintained where possible, however the Council are satisfied that, in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road to which this Order relates, or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising, or for facilitating the passage of vehicular traffic on the road, vehicular access to premises situated in the roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted, save for emergency access as indicated above.

Access for pedestrians will be unaffected. It is anticipated that the closures will operate in the Borough of Reigate and Banstead between 5am and 2pm and in the District of Tandridge between 5am and 4pm, though roads will reopen earlier if it is safe to do so.

The Council are also satisfied that in accordance with subsection (3) of Section 16A of the Act, that the event to which the Order relates cannot be held otherwise than on a road. Such is the length of the route and the nature of the closure, the Council does not consider it practical to recommend alternative routes for traffic, however, it will be possible to cross the route via Outwood Lane (Woodmansterne), A23 London Road South (Merstham) and A25 High Street/Bletchingley Road (Nutfield), though these crossing points will be controlled by traffic signals.
