What is happening?
The London Borough Of Tower Hamlets Traffic Management Orders - The Tower Hamlets (Parking Places) (Map Based) (Amendment No.46) Order 2019, The Tower Hamlets (Waiting Loading And Stopping Restrictions) (Map Based) (Amendment No.46) Order 2019
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets on the 16th of May 2024 made the above-mentioned Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 (as amended)
2. The effect of these orders is as follows: (PTO 2189) - Morville Street:
a) Between Eastside Mews and Springwood Close, replace all single yellow lines, no waiting (Mon-Sat 8.30am-5.30pm) restrictions with double yellow lines, no waiting "at any time" restrictions.
b) On the northside, immediate east of Eastside Mews, revoke the existing Shared use (Permit & Pay by Phone payment) parking bay and replace with double yellow lines.
c) By removing single yellow line, introduce on the south side: (i) outside no.329 - a shared use (Permit & pay by phone payment) parking bay of 19m, and
(ii) outside no.331 - a general blue badge parking bay with 3 hours max stay and no return same day. (PTO 2190) -
a) Devons Road: (i) by removing double yellow lines on the east side, opposite no's 146-152 and outside no's 43-49, introduce two permit holder parking bays of 22m and 19m respectively (partially on the footway as a layby), and (ii) Convert the single yellow lines into double yellow lines at its junction with Reeves Road.
b) Reeves Road: (i) outside the flank wall of no.2 Purdy Street, to relocate the existing permit holder parking bay to the opposite side of the road and replace with double yellow lines, (ii) Between the boundary wall of no.2 Purdy Street and no.30, introduce no loading at any time restrictions to match the new double yellow lines in a south-west direction for approx. 30m to provide turning protection at the hammerhead,
(iii) opposite no's 26-30, by removing 18m of single yellow line, introduce a permit holder parking bay,
(iv) outside no.20, to relocate the existing permit holder parking bay to the opposite side of the road and replace with double yellow lines, and (v) Between Tibbatt's Road and Devons Road, replace all single yellow lines, no waiting (Mon-Fri 8.30am-5.30pm) restrictions with double yellow lines, no waiting "at any time."
3. The Regulations, fees and usual exemptions imposed by the governing Traffic Management Orders would apply to the proposals referred to in paragraph 2, as above.
4. A copy of the Orders, which will come into operation on 16th May 2024 and all relevant documents can be obtained by writing to; Parking & Mobility Services, 585-593 Commercial Road, London E1 0HJ or by emailing parking.Tmo@Towerhamlets.gov.uk until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made.
5. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any relevant requirements thereof or any regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
