What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14
(PUBLIC BRIDLEWAY TK5 – LITTLE HARROWDEN & PUBLIC BRIDLEWAY UM7 – FINEDON) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that North Northamptonshire Council have
made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians, equestrians
and cyclist from proceeding along that length of Public Bridleway TK5
in Little Harrowden and Public Bridleway UM7 in Finedon as specified
below. Private access to land or premises adjacent to the said lengths
of bridleways are unaffected.
RIGHT OF WAY TO WHICH RESTRICTION APPLIES: That part of Public
Bridleway TK5 in the Parish of Little Harrowden to be closed starts at point
A on the map at National Grid Reference (NGR) SP 8970 7187. It extends in
a generally north easterly direction for approximately 1356 metres to
point B on the map at NGR SP 9073 7257, on Station Road.
The routes to be closed is shown by solid black lines between points A – B.
REASONS FOR RESTRICTION: The restriction is required for public safety
due to a damaged bridge.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: The Order will come into effect on 21st May 2024
and will continue in force for a period of six months. An application may
be made for the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport for this
Order to be extended if this proves necessary. However, the restriction
specified will have effect only at such times and to such extent as is
indicated by the display of notices.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: The alternative route starts at point A at NGR SP
8970 7187. It travels north along Byway TK21 and Furnace Lane for
approximately 1168 metres to Point C at NGR SP 8951 7300. The route
then travels along Finedon Station Road and Station Road for
approximately 1517 metres to point B at NGR SP 9073 7257.
The alternative route is shown by a broken black line between points
A – C – B.
TK5 will remain open to pedestrians wishing to use TK3.
