What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF MAYDENCROFT LANE, GOSMORE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Maydencroft Lane, Gosmore from its junction with High Street south westwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 50m ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via High Street, Hitchin Road, Gosmore Road, A602 Park Road, Charlton Road and Maydencroft Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 6 June 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN GOSMORE AND HITCHIN) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access:-

1. that length of Mill Lane, Gosmore from a point 40m north east of its junction with Mill Road south westwards to its junction with Hitchin Road, a distance of approximately 201m.

An alternative route will be via Mill Lane, B656 London Road, Gosmore Road and Hitchin Road.

2. that length of Hitchin Road, Gosmore/Gosmore Road, Hitchin, from its junction with Mill Lane north westwards to its southernmost junction with Priory Way, a distance of approximately 660m.

An alternative route will be via High Street, Waterdell Lane, B656 London Road and Gosmore Road.

The Order is needed because the replacement of existing gas mains is proposed to be executed on or near the Roads. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 3 June 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE CYCLE TRACK SITUATED ON THE WEST SIDE OF CLOVELLY WAY, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedal cycles from using the cycle track situated on the west side of Clovelly Way, Stevenage from a point 153m south of its junction with Brighton Way northwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 457m ("the Cycle Track").

An alternative route will be via the cycle track situated to the rear of Nos.45-57 Yarmouth Road, Scarborough Avenue, Clovelly Way, Fishers Green and the cycle track situated on the west side of Clovelly Way.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Cycle Track.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 3 June 2024 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Cycle Track.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN STEVENAGE AND HITCHIN) ORDER NO.4 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. that length of Orchard Road, Stevenage from its junction with Julians Road south westwards and south eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

2. that length of Walkern Road, Stevenage from its junction with Almonds Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 268m.

An alternative route will be via Almonds Lane, Grace Way, Sish Lane, Letchmore Road, Church Lane and Walkern Road.

3. that length of East Close, Hitchin from its junction with Highover Way south eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 3 June 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(Temporary Closing And Temporary Waiting Restrictions In Various Roads In Hitchin) Order No.2 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. that length of Alexandra Road, Hitchin from its junction with Florence Street north eastwards to its junction with Kings Road, a distance of approximately 66m.

An alternative route will be via Florence Street, A505 Nightingale Road and Kings Road.

2. that length of the A505 Nightingale Road/A505 Bunyan Road roundabout, Hitchin from its junction with Bancroft clockwise for its entire length.

An alternative route will be via Bancroft, Brand Street, A505 Paynes Park, A602 Park Way, B656 (Hitchin Hill/Park Street/ Queen Street/Walsworth Road) and A505 Nightingale Road or via Bancroft, Brand Street and A505 (Paynes Park/Old Park Road/ Bedford Road/Fishponds Road/Bunyan Road).

3. that length of Ickleford Road, Hitchin from its junction with the A505 Nightingale Road/A505 Bunyan Road roundabout north westwards for a distance of approximately 10m.

An alternative route will be via A505 (Bunyan Road/Fishponds Road), A600 Bedford Road, Bearton Road and Ickleford Road.

4. that length of Bancroft, Hitchin from its junction with the A505 Nightingale Road/A505 Bunyan Road roundabout south westwards for a distance of approximately 10m.

An alternative route will be via A505 (Bunyan Road/ FishpondsRoad/Bedford Road), Brand Street and Bancroft. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 20 May 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF LOWER SEAN, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Lower Sean, Stevenage from a point in line with the southern boundary of No.12 Lower Sean north westwards for its entire length ("the Road").

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 20 May 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
