What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BROADSTONE ROAD AND LINWOOD ROAD, HARPENDEN) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access:-

1. that length of Broadstone Road, Harpenden from its junction with Cranbourne Drive westwards and south westwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

2. that length of Linwood Road, Harpenden from its junction with Broadstone Road northwards and north westwards for its entire length.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 4 June 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN THE SERVICE ROAD FRONTING NOS.265-367 WATLING STREET, RADLETT) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the service road fronting Nos.265-367 Watling Street, Radlett from its northernmost junction with A5183 Watling Street north eastwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 118m ("the Road"). There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 3 June 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF OAKLANDS LANE, SMALLFORD) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Oaklands Lane, Smallford from its northernmost junction with the service road fronting Nos. 54-80 Oaklands Lane south eastwards for a distance of approximately 130m ("the Road"). An alternative route will be via Oaklands Lane, Sandpit Lane, Beechwood Avenue, A1057 Hatfield Road and Oaklands Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 20 May 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF COOPERS GREEN LANE, ST ALBANS/HITCHIN) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Coopers Green Lane, St Albans/Hatfield from its junction with the Oaklands Lane roundabout north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with the B653 Brocket Road/B197 Great North Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 5371m ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Oaklands Lane, A1057 (Hatfield Road/St Albans Road West), A1001 Comet Way, A6129 Stanborough Road and B653 Stanborough Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 20 May 2024 for a period of up to 18 months.

However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (ROMELAND HILL AND VERULAM ROAD, ST ALBANS) (LOADING BAYS) ORDER 2023

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (VERULAM ROAD, ST ALBANS) (PROHIBITION OF STOPPING AND WAITING EXCEPT TAXIS) ORDER 2023

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made the above-mentioned Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce new restrictions in parts of St Albans as specified in the Schedules to this Notice. The Orders will come into effect on Friday 17 May 2024. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are held on deposit and may be viewed from 16 May 2024 to 27 June 2024 during office hours at Main Reception, Hertfordshire County Council, County Hall, Pegs Lane, Hertford or online at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/trafficorders by selecting St Albans and looking at Ref: SA00223.

Enquiries relating to the Orders should be referred to the Highways Engineer concerned Richard Burnett tel: 0300 123 4047 or richard.burnettehertfordshire.gov.uk. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders, or of any provision contained in them, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or any Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Orders, may within 6 weeks from the date of this Notice apply to the High Court for this purpose.

SCHEDULE 1: Loading Bay at any time - that section of road listed below and as set out in the Order and scheme plan - Part of Romeland Hill.

SCHEDULE 2: Loading Bay 7.00am to 7.00pm Monday to Sunday - that section of road listed below and as set out in the Order and scheme plan - Part of Verulam Road. SCHEDULE 3: No stopping or waiting except Taxis 7.00pm to 7.00am Monday to Sunday -that section of road listed below and as set out in the Order and scheme plan - part of Verulam Road co-located with loading bay in Schedule 2.
