What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(SHORT LANE, BRIDLINGTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceed along the entire length of Short
Lane, Bridlington from 00.00 hours on 20 May 2024
until 23.59 hours on 27 May 2024. The reason for
the closure is to allow for carriageway repairs, to be
carried out and completed in a manner consistent
with ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated
that the works will be completed by 27 May 2024.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order
is via Bempton Lane, Marton Road, Marton Road
Roundabout, Marton Gate, Marton Gate Roundabout,
Sheeprake Lane and Jewison Lane. The road will be
open at all times to pedestrians and for vehicular
access to properties directly affected by the closure
and for emergency services. The Order will commence
20 May 2024 and continue in force for a period not
exceeding eighteen months or until the works which
it is proposed to carry out have been completed,
whichever is the earlier. Further information can
