What is happening?

The County Council of Durham
(Weardale Street, Wheatley Hill)
(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024


The Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on a 29 metre length of Weardale Street, Wheatley Hill to the rear of no. 12 & 14 Weardale Park to enable new electric connection works to be undertaken. Throughout the period of closure, no alternative diversion will be available to vehicular traffic. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence from 8am on Wednesday 5/6/2024 and are anticipated to be completed in 14 days. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
