What is happening?

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
(CROMWELL ST, NORTH BEACH ST, CASTLE ST, SOUTH BEACH ST, SHELL ST) ORDER 2024
Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, under section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, hereby gives notice of the temporary road closure of the following roads between 10:00 and 10:20 on Saturday, 25th May 2024.
CROMWELL ST, NORTH BEACH ST, CASTLE ST, SOUTH BEACH ST AND SHELL ST – from the Kenneth St junction along Cromwell St and North Beach St turning southwards on to Castle St, then heading east along South Beach St and Shell St to the Shell St/Newton St Roundabout.
The temporary road closure is in the interests of road safety at the start of the Stornoway Half Marathon.
Traffic will be held up at any junctions or accesses to these roads as the race passes.
Access will be available for emergency service vehicles in discharge of their duties.
