What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL (OXMARDYKE LEVEL CROSSING, TONGUE LANE, BLACKTOFT) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC)
ORDER 2024
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed/proceeding on foot/whether on foot, pedal cycle or on horseback along Oxmardyke Level Crossing, Tongue Lane, Blacktoft for 20 metres either side of the level crossing from 00.20 hours until 05.05 hours 23 May 2024.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed level crossing maintenance works, to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public.
It is anticipated that the works will be completed within five hours. The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via Tongue Lane, Scalby Lane, Station Road, Staddlethorpe Broad Lane, Sparrowcroft Lane, Blacktoft Lane and Faxfleet Lane. The road will be closed to all traffic. The Order will
commence 23 May 2024, and continue in force for
a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
