Derwent Bridge, Stamford Bridge - Temporary Traffic Regulation

What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(DERWENT BRIDGE, STAMFORD BRIDGE
(PART)) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF
THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order
the effect of which is to prohibit any person from
causing any vehicle to proceed along part of Derwent
Bridge, Stamford Bridge between its junctions with
Buttercrambe Road and Viking Road.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed
repairs to the bridge and parapet works, to be carried
out and completed in a manner consistent with
ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that
the works will be completed by 2 August 2024.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is
via A166 Derwent Bridge, Stamford Bridge to Grimston
Bar Roundabout, York, A1079 Grimston Bar
Roundabout to Shiptonthorpe Roundabout,
Shiptonthorpe, A614 Shiptonthorpe Roundabout to
York Road Roundabout, Driffield, A166 York Road
Roundabout to Derwent Bridge, Stamford Bridge.
The road will be closed to all traffic without exception
but access will be maintained for pedestrians via the
footbridge where possible.
The Order will commence 20 May 2024 and continue
in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or
until the works which it is proposed to carry out have
been completed, whichever is the earlier. Further
