Uxbridge Road - Temporary Road Restrictions For Laying Underground Cables
What is happening?
LONDON BOROUGH OF EALING
NOTICE OF INTENT TO CREATE A TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER FOR PLANNED WORKS AFFECTING: UXBRIDGE ROAD, SOUTHALL.
Ealing Council intends to make the following temporary traffic order under section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:
Title of order
This order can be referred to as: Temporary traffic order for planned works - TT 4281 Uxbridge Road, Southall - 2024.
Reason for order
This order is needed to allow for works taking place on or near the road. These works involve Triconnex laying underground cables.
Effect of order
1. Uxbridge Road (cycle lane) will be closed in an easterly direction from Lyndhurst Avenue bus stop (UC) to a point where Uxbridge Road meets Greenford Road (350 metres total distance).
2. This order will also close the two central reservation turning points either side of the Esso Fuel station on Uxbridge Road.
3. The following temporary restrictions on vehicle movements will take effect from 27th May 2024.
(a) No entry into the fully closed section of cycle lane. No entry where turning bans will be implemented in the central reservation at two entry/exit points either side of the Esso Fuel Station on Uxbridge Road.
(b) No waiting, loading, or unloading on either side of the carriageway within the fully closed section.
4. The above temporary restrictions and prohibitions will only apply at specified locations where appropriate traffic signs are provided and displayed in accordance with Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual.
5. While the temporary restrictions are in place, displaced vehicles should follow the diversions displayed in place to reach their destinations and comply with any traffic management measures.
6. This Order does not apply to:
(a) anything done at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a police community support officer (PCSO).
(b) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance.
Date order will come into force. 27th May 2024
Maximum duration of order
This order will expire on 26th November 2025 or, on completion of the works, which is expected to be 7th June 2024, whichever is sooner.
