Lawe Road, George Street - Temporary Prohitibion of driving order

(LAWE ROAD AND GEORGE SCOTT STREET, SOUTH SHIELDS) ORDER 2024
On 1 May 2024 South Tyneside Council made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The Order which comes into operation on 28 May 2024 will
REVOKE Limited Waiting, 2 hrs, no return within 4 hrs on any day 9am – 6.pm on Lawe Rd east side from a point 19m north of its junction with Ocean Rd/Sea Rd in a northerly direction for 91 metres. AMEND No waiting at any time and no loading/unloading at any time on Lawe Rd west side from the northern kerb line of its junction with Ocean Rd in a northerly direction from 19m to 36m. INTRODUCE: No waiting at any time and no loading/unloading at any time on Lawe Rd east side from a point 2m south of its junction with George Scott St in a northerly direction for 9m and west side (i)from the northern kerb line of its junction with Ocean Rd in a northerly direction for 36m ii) from its junction with George Scott St in a northerly direction for 9m and George Scott St both sides from its junction with Lawe Rd in a westerly direction for 5m. No waiting on any day 8am-5pm on Rear George St/Rear Lawe Rd both sides for its entire length and Rear Ocean Rd (no’s 115 to 125) both sides from its most easterly point to its junction with George Scott St. Pay and Display Parking 8am-5pm Mon to Sun inclusive except permit holders on Lawe Rd east side from a point 19m north of its junction with Ocean Rd/Sea Rd in a northerly direction for 91m. Residents Permit Holder Parking on George Scott St both sides for its entire length. Residents and visitors to properties 1-69 George Scott St and 5-15 Lawe Rd will be able to park within the permit area of George Scott St and Lawe Rd with a valid permit.
Full details are contained in the Order, which, together with a plan showing the lengths of road affected and a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order, may be inspected from Monday to Friday between 10am and 2pm at the Town Hall, Westoe Road, South Shields, NE33 2RL.Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act or that any of the requirements of the Act or of any relevant regulations made under the Act have not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from 1 May 2024 when the Order was made, make an application for that purpose to the High Court.
