(HIGHWAYS MAINTENANCE PROGRAMME 2024-25)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024

Sunderland City Council gives notice that on 13th May 2024 it made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit vehicular and pedestrian traffic from those sections of highway as set out in the Schedules. The Order, is required because works are proposed to be executed on or near the highways, namely highway maintenance works, will come into force on 20th May 2024 The maximum duration of the closure under this Order will be 18 months for highways and footways and 6 months for footpaths. The prohibition shall apply at such time and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. A diversion for vehicular traffic will be signposted via the adjacent road network. A safe route for pedestrians will be maintained at all times. An exemption for the emergency services will be provided wherever possible. There will be an exception in the Order for personnel and vehicles involved with the Works.
SCHEDULE ONE - The sections of footways listed below are closed for the extent stated.

East Area Mill Hill Road from the extended north-westerly property boundary of no.14 Shalcombe Close for a distance of 265 metres in north-westerly direction. Seaham Road from the extended south eastern property boundary of no.10 Sea View for a distance of 100 metres in northerly direction.
North Area Watford Close from the extended eastern property boundary of no.15 Wessex Close for a distance of 16 metres in westerly direction.
