Folkestone and Hythe, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

FOLKESTONE & HYTHE AREA

BARNHURST LANE, HAWKINGE, CT18 7AU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Barnhurst Lane, Hawkinge, on or after 23rd May 2024 for up to 8 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from number 145 to the junction of Canterbury Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

JEFFERSTONE LANE, ST MARY IN THE MARSH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Jefferstone Lane, St Mary In The Marsh, on or after 23rd May 2024 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of St Marys Road to outside Brondnyx Cottage, between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Jefferstone Lane, A259 Dymchurch Road, St Marys Road and vice versa.

THE LEAS, FOLKESTONE, CT20 9GU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Leas, Folkestone, on or after 22nd May 2024 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the roundabout with West Terrace, between the hours of 10:00 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via West Terrace, Bouverie Place, Bouverie Square, A2033 Middelburg Square, A2033 Bouverie Road, A2033 Castle Hill Avenue, Sandgate Road, Shakespeare Terrace, The Leas and vice versa.

THE LEAS, FOLKESTONE (TRAFFIC RESRICTIONS) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

For the safety of the public whilst the Folkestone Race for Life charity event is being held, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to restrict traffic on The Leas, Folkestone, as defined below.

Restriction: Road Closures from 9th June 2024 between 10:15 hours and 13:00 hours.

Road Name: Cliffe Road, Metropole Road West, Metropole Road East, The Leas, Dixwell Road

Extent: The entire length.

Road Name: Dixwell Road

Extent: From the junction with A259 Sandgate Road towards The Leas

Diversion: Westbound traffic is via West Terrace, Bouverie Place, Bouverie Square, A2033 Middleburg Square/Bouverie Road West/Castle Hill Avenue and Sandgate Road.

Restriction: No Waiting from 10:15 hours on 9th June 2024 to 13:00 hours on 9th June 2024

Road Name: The Leas

Extent: Between Metropole Road East and Metropole Road West.
