What is happening?

(Footpath 7, Newport) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2024

Further to a notice: Under section 14(2) of the road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which commenced on 19 April 2024.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 7(Dixies foot crossing), Newport in the District of Uttlesford, approximately 70 metres south west from B1383 Cambridge Road for approximately 20 metres (foot crossing over railway line known as Dixies).

The closure is scheduled to commence on 10 May 2024 for 6 months, weather permitting, or where appropriate signs are showing and is required for the safety of the public due to insufficient sighting for pedestrians to cross the foot crossing safely and the presence of high speed trains.

The alternative route will be via Footpath 7, Byway 2 (Whiteditch Lane), Bury Water Lane, Footpath 22, Gaces Acre, B1383 Cambridge Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect 10 May 2024 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Footpath 14 (Elephant), Newport) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2024

Further to a notice: Under section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which commenced on 22 April 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 14 (Elephant), Newport in the District of Uttlesford, from B1383 High Street northeast approximately 99 metres to where it meets the railway. The closure is scheduled to commence on 13 May 2024 for 6 months, weather permitting, or where appropriate signs are showing and is required for the safety of the public due to insufficient sighting for pedestrians to cross the foot crossing safely and the presence of high-speed trains. The alternative route will be via: Footpath 14, Footpath 23, Belmont Hill, High Street and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 13 May 2024 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Footpath 32, Henham) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2024

Further to a notices: Under section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), which commenced on 19 April 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 32, Henham in the District of Uttlesford, approximately 10 metres either side of Elsenham Emergency Hut Network Rail crossing.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 10 May 2024 for 6 months, weather permitting, or where appropriate signs are showing and is required for the safety of the public due to insufficient sighting for pedestrians to cross the foot crossing safely and the presence of high-speed trains.

The alternative route will be via Footpath 14 Ugley, Bedwell Road, New Road, Old Mead Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 10 May 2024 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Clatterbury Lane, Clavering) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Clatterbury Lane, Clavering in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 355m north east of its junction with The Druce for a distance of approximately 45m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 5th June 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX06054905/AP - Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new water supply works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

An alternative route is available via Clatterbury Lane, High Street, Middle Street, Pelham Road, Pump Hill, Conduit Lane, B1038 from its junction with Biggin Hill to Andersons Lane, B1368 North from junction with Hare Street Road to Biggin Hill, B1368 from its junction with Hare Street Road to The Start of Dassells Hill, Dassels Hill, Dassels, Hay Street, Green End, Station Road, Wickham Hill, Buntingford Road, A10 - B1368 Roundabout, A10 Puckeridge Bypass, A10 - A120 Roundabout, Standon Hill, Kents Lane, Stortford Road, Standon Road, Little Hadham Bypass, Hadham Road, Bishops Stortford Bypass, Birchanger Roundabout, Stansted Road, Pines Hill, Silver Street, Cambridge Road, London Road, Cambridge Road, London Road, High Street, Wicken Road, Clatterbury Lane and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 16th May 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Dewes Green Road, Berden) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Dewes Green Road, Berden in the District of Uttlesford, from both of its junctions with Pelham Road for a distance of approximately 165m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd June 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (KA140RFSI1257577 - Gigaclear). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while fibre optic works are undertaken by Gigaclear.

No alternative route is available.

The Order will come into effect on 16th May 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Brick End Road, Henham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Brick End Road, Henham in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 540m south of its junction with Thaxted Road for a distance of approximately 75m in a southerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 22nd May 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX06057387/AP - Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

An alternative route is available via Brick End Road, Brick End Lane, Brick End, Church End, Church End Lane, Thaxted Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 2nd May 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Gipsy Lane, Birchanger) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Gipsy Lane, Birchanger in the District of Uttlesford, from both of its junctions with Pins Hill for a distance of approximately 390m in a south westerly direction to its border with East Hertfordshire. The closure is scheduled to commence on 27th May 2024 for 29 days, or where stated on a valid permit (N5004P100774N0022855_R46 - The Electricity Network Company Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct installation works are undertaken by The Electricity Network Company Limited.

An alternative route is available via Pines Hill, Stansted Road, Birchanger Roundabout, Stansted Road, Michaels Road, Rye Street, Hazelend Road, Gipsy Lane and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 2nd May 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Rookery Lane, Wendens Ambo) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Rookery Lane, Wendens Ambo in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 205m south east then north east of its junction with Duck Street for a distance of approximately 35m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 22nd May 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX06056693/AP - Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

An alternative route is available via Rookery Lane, Duck Street, Royston Road, Station Road, London Road, Mutlow Hill, London Road, Cambridge Road, Rookery Lane and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 2nd May 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Strethall Road, Littlebury) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Strethall Road, Littlebury in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 585m south west of its junction with Peggys Walk for a distance of approximately 220m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 21st May 2024 for 8 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WFGMVW0N - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while civil works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Strethall Road, Littlebury Green Road, Royston Road, Station Road, London Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 2nd May 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
