What is happening?

WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL
UNDER SECTION 14/1 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL (THE COUNCIL) INTENDS TO MAKE ORDERS AS FOLLOWING

(WALLINGFORD ROAD, COMPTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Wallingford Road in Compton along its entire length. As there is no alternative route for vehicles affected by the Order, resident and blue light access will be maintained. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to carry out repairs and maintenance works. The proposed Order will come into effect on 13th May 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 15th and 17th May 2024.

(THE THICKET, LECKHAMPSTEAD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over The Thicket in the parish of Leckhamstead between its junction with Unnamed Road from Nodmore Corner, Hangmans Stone Lane to Holt Lane, and its junction with Goose Lane. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Nuttingtons, Shop Lane, Unnamed Road from Shop Lane to Hill Green Lane, Unnamed Road from Hill Green Lane to Hangmans Stone Lane, Hangmans Stone Lane, Unnamed Road from Nodmore Corner, Hangmans Stone Lane to Holt Lane, and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames water to carry out repairs and maintenance works along this route. The proposed Order will come into effect on 28th May 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 29th and
31st May 2024.

(BUSCOT HILL, BRADFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Buscot Hill in Bradfield between its junction with Common Hill and its junction with Union Road. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Common Hill, Union Road and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Feltham Construction to carry out refurbishment works on Army House at Bradfield College. The proposed Order will come into effect on 25th May 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 27th May and 25th October 2024.

(WASING LANE, PARISH OF ALDERMASTON AND WASING)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Wasing Lane in Aldermaston and Wasing between its junction with The Street and to property known as Wasing Lodge.
The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via The Street, Paices Hill, Baughurst Road, Unnamed Road from Unnamed Road to Paices Hill to District Boundary, Brimpton Lane, Back Lane and Shalford Hill, and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Volker Highways to undertaken footway improvements. The proposed Order will come into effect on 20th May 2024.
It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 28th May 2024 to 1st June 2024.

Unless stated otherwise the above orders shall remain in force for a period of eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest, they will not take effect until approved traffic signs have been erected. Final details of the closure can be viewed on One.Network
