What is happening?

BOROUGH OF ROCHDALE
(MILKSTONE AND DEEPLISH ACTIVE NEIGHBOURHOOD) (ONE-WAY WORKING) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rochdale Borough Council, in exercise of its powers under Sections 1(1), 2 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, has made an Order the effect of Sections 1(1), 2 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, has made an Order the effect of which is to iintroduce one-way working along the routes and directions confirmed as follows:-

Ashfield Road In a south-westerly direction from its junction with Boundary Street to its junction with New Barn Lane Castlemere Street In a south-easterly direction from its junction with Drake Street to its junction with Tweedale Street

Kensington Street In a north-easterly direction over its entire length Mere Street In a north-westerly direction from its junction with Tweedale Street to its junction with Drake Street
Osborne Street In a north-easterly direction over its entire length
Vivian Street In a south-easterly direction from its junction with Kensington Street to its junction with Osborne Street

A copy of the Order and a plan showing the lengths of road concerned together with a Statement of Reasons for making the Order, may be viewed on the Council’s website www.rochdale.gov.uk/roads, or by phoning Highways on 0300 303 8879 to request a copy via post.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within six weeks from 9th May 2024 apply to the High Court for this purpose.

The Order will come into effect on 1st June 2024.
