Front Street, Temporary Road Closure Due To Manhole Repair Works

The County Council of Durham (C184 Front Street, Chester-le-Street) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024

The Council on 2/5/2024 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on 223 metres length of C184 Front Street, Chester-le-Street from the front of no. 44 Front Street at northern side of closure in a southerly direction to junction with Station Road to enable CCTV, sewer cleanse and manhole repair works to be undertaken.

Throughout the period of closure, a diversion will be available to vehicular traffic from north side of closure in an easterly direction on B6313 Picktree Lane then south on C183 then west on High Chare to southern end of closure and vice versa.

The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on Sunday 12th May 2024 between 9:00am-4:00pm and are anticipated to be completed in 3 weeks (Sunday 12th & 19th May & 2 June only) On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
