What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (Copnor Road) (Temporary Prohibition of Left Turn) (No.53) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 12th May 2024 and the effect is as follows:
A) PROHIBITION OF LEFT TURN
COPNOR ROAD (SOUTHBOUND)
At its junction with Norway Road.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate telecoms pole installation works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 12th May 2024 to 9th June 2024 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place on Sunday 12th May 2024 and Sunday 19th May 2024 only, with contingency dates of 2nd June 2024 and 9th June 2024, as notified by signage and letters to residents in advance of works taking place.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Copnor Road, Milton Road, Baffins Road, St Marys Road Roundabout, Milton Road, Velder Avenue, Eastern Road, Anchorage Road, Williams Road Roundabout, Norway Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
