What is happening?
Temporary Closure Of Main Street, Litton Cheney
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along MAIN STREET, LITTON CHENEY between the entrance to Charity Farm and a point approximately 130 metres south. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 28 May 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 07 June 2024
This Order will enable Wessex Water, safe access to install new pipe work and connection.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using; Coxs Lane - C121 - C9

Any person who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the Notice will be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1000.
Temporary Traffic Management Order Of East Street, Chickerell
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 16 May 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 21 May 2024.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out essential highway maintenance works. The effect of this Order will be:
[1] To impose a temporary road closure on East Street for its entirety.
[2] To impose a temporary clearway on East Street for its entirety to prevent vehicles parking except those associated with the works.
Please note that any vehicle waiting in contravention of temporary parking restrictions may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. If a vehicle has been removed, the owner must contact the Council's vehicle recovery contractor: Ashleywood Recovery Ltd/Bride Valley Recovery Ltd on 01305 889421.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections. Temporary Traffic Management Order Of C12, Charminster
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 29 May 2024 between 0500 and 1700 and will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if necessary; however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 11 June 2024.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out surface dressing works.
The effect of this Order will be:
[1] To impose temporary road closure on C12 at Charminster between its junction with the access road to Wolfedale Golf course and its junction with Herrison Road
[2] To impose temporary clearway on C12 at Charminster between its junction with the access road to Wolfedale Golf course and its junction with Herrison Road Any vehicle in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

The County of Dorset (A3066 Mosterton) (40mph Speed Limit) (No.1) Order 2024
Dorset Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. When the Order comes into operation on 17 May 2024 the effect of the order will be to introduce a new length of 40mph along a section of A3066; from the existing 30mph (near the junction of Down Road) for a distance of approximately 880 metres in a northerly direction.
