What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES IN VARIOUS ROADS IN ROYSTON) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access:-
1. that length of Baldock Road, Royston from its junction with the A505 Royston Bypass/A505 Baldock Road roundabout south eastwards and north eastwards to its easternmost junction with Hampshire Road, a distance of approximately 906 metres.
An alternative route will be via A505 Royston Bypass, A10 Melbourn Road, Melbourn Street, Baldock Street and Baldock Road or via A505 Baldock Road, Coombe Road, Kelshall Tops, The Causeway, Police Row, Hay Green, Haywood Lane, Reed End, A10 (London Road/Market Hill/Priory Lane), Melbourn Street, Baldock Street and Baldock Road or via Baldock Road, Baldock Street, Melbourn Street, A10 (Priory Lane/Barkway Street/ London Road), Reed End, Haywood Lane, Hay Green, Police Row, The Causeway, Kelshall Tops, Coombe Road, A505 (Baldock Road/Royston Road/Baldock Bypass), B656 Royston Bypass Interchange with Wallington Road and A505 (Baldock Bypass/Royston Road/Baldock Road).
2. that length of Therfield Road, Royston from its junction with Baldock Road south eastwards, south westwards and southwards to its junction with Kelshall Tops, a distance of approximately 2825 metres.
An alternative route will be via Baldock Road, A505 Baldock Road, Coombe Road and Kelshall Tops or via Kelshall Tops, Coombe Road, A505 (Baldock Road/Royston Road/Baldock Bypass), B656 Royston Bypass Interchange with Wallington Road, A505 (Baldock Bypass/Royston Road/ Baldock Road) and Baldock Road.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicular traffic is prohibited from making a right turn manoeuvre from
Therfield Road into Baldock Road, Royston, whilst signs are in place.
An alternative route will be via Therfield Road, Kelshall Tops, Coombe Road, A505 (Baldock Road/
Royston Road/Baldock Bypass), B656 Royston Bypass Interchange with Wallington Road, A505
(Baldock Bypass/Royston Road/Baldock Road) and Baldock Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 27 May 2024 for a period of up to 18 months.
However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or
near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF NORTH END, KELSHALL) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of North End, Kelshall from a point 155 metres north west of its junction with Kelshall Public Footpath No.005 north westwards, a distance of approximately 31 metres ("the Road"). An alternative route will be via North End, Fears Green, Stump Road, Kelshall Tops and North End. The Order is needed because water service connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 28 May 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF STATION ROAD, ASHWELL) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of
Station Road, Ashwell from its junction with Walkdens south eastwards for a distance of
approximately 350m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Station Road, Ashwell Road and Station Road.
The Order is needed because utility service connection works are proposed to be executed
on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 13 May 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
