What is happening?

PUBLIC NOTICE 

THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL (SHAW ROAD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council have made an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on the following stretches of road: 

· Shaw Road closed in both directions between its junctions with Hinchcliffe Avenue and Birmingham New Road. Vehicular Diversion Routes: Birmingham New Road (southbound), Ivyhouse Lane, Fullwoods End, Havacre Lane and Biddings Lane. Or Birmingham New Road (northbound), Black Country Route (eastbound), Black Country Route (westbound), Birmingham New Road (southbound), Ivyhouse Lane, Fullwoods End, Havacre Lane and Biddings Lane. It is anticipated that the above closure will operate from 11 May 2024 to 12 May 2024.

 · Shaw Road closed in both directions between its junctions with Birmingham New Road and Foster Avenue. Vehicular Diversion Route: Birmingham New Road (northbound) and Ettingshall Road. Or Birmingham New Road (southbound), Sedgley Road, Tipton Road, Tipton Street, Dudley Street, Bullring, High Street, Bilston Street, Gorge Road and Hurst Road. It is anticipated that the above closure will be in place from 18 May 2024 to 19 May 2024. 

The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months, but it is anticipated that the works will be undertaken between the dates stipulated above. 

The Order is required to facilitate the laying of duct by City Fibre.
