Harbour View - Temporary Traffic Regulation Order

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024
Sunderland City Council gives notice that on 7th May 2024 it made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to at times temporarily prohibit all vehicles, cyclists and horses from those sections of roads listed in the schedule. Alternative routes will be provided via the adjacent highway network. The Order is required because works are to be undertaken on or near the highway namely works to the bridge deck and maintenance. The Order comes into operation on 12th May 2024. The maximum duration of the closure under this Order will be eighteen months and it is anticipated that the works will take twelve weeks. All users of the highways in the schedule (except for personnel employed in the works) will be prohibited from those section of highway will be prohibited until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs.
SCHEDULE - Roads to be closed and anticipated duration of closures
A183 Harbour View from Givens Street to Benedict Road. Sunday 12th May 2024 from 8pm – 6am (1 night only); and Benedict Road from its junction with Harbour View for a distance of 10 metres in north-westerly direction. Monday 13th May (from 6am) for 12 weeks.
