(A414 Three Mile Hill and A414 London Road) (AA National Flower Show Event) (Special Events) (Temporary 30mph Speed Limit) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended)
Effect of the order: To introduce: a ‘Temporary 30mph Speed Limit’ Restriction on the following length of road in the Parishes of Margaretting, and Writtle, in the City of Chelmsford (currently National Speed Limit):
Road- Description
A414 Three Mile Hill/A414 London Road. Northbound carriageway From its junction with the roundabout known as Webb’s Farm roundabout generally northeastwards for approximately 2000 metres.
The Temporary 30mph Speed Limit is scheduled to take place from 07:00 on the 17 May 2024 to 19:00 on the 19 May 2024, or where appropriate signs are showing, and weather permitting and is required for the safety of visitors and other road users whilst the AA National Flower Show Event at Hylands Park Estate takes place. Speed Enforcement cameras may be operating within the restricted lengths of road as specified.
Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.
The Order will come into effect on 17 May 2024 and may continue in force for 3 days unless extended by the Secretary of State.
(Woodhill Road, Danbury) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Woodhill Road, Danbury in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Well Lane to its junction with South View Road a distance of approximately 225m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd June 2024 for 33 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30090233794 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while cable installation works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Penny Royal Road, Mayes Lane, Main Road, Well Lane and vice versa (with access only into Woodhill Road).
The Order will come into effect on 16th May 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Church Lane, Little Leighs) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Church Lane, Little Leighs
in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 50m north west of its junction with Main Road for a distance of approximately 45m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 21st May 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30074544186 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new supply works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Littley Green Road, Felsted Road, School Lane, Main Road, Goodmans Lane, Great Leighs Bypass Roundabout South and vice versa (with access only into Church Lane).
The Order came into effect on 2nd May 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Hopping Jacks Lane, Danbury) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hopping Jacks Lane, Danbury in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Runsell Lane to its junction with Runsell View a distance of approximately 35m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th May 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411SA001WF8DT75V – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while ducting and cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.
Alternative routes are available via
1. Runsell Lane, London Road, Maldon Road, Little Baddow Road, Eves Corner, Hopping Jacks Lane.
2. Hopping Hacks Lane, Butts Lane, Maldon Road, London Road, Runsell Lane.
The Order came into effect on 2nd May 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Loves Green, Highwood) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Loves Green, Highwood in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 75m north east of its junction with Bucknells Mead for a distance of approximately 50m in a north easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 26th May 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WF1V9G2R – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Loves Green, Highwood Road, The Causeway, Highwood Road Roundabout, Ongar Road West, Ongar Road, Chelmsford Road Straightening, Rookery Road, Nine Ashes Road, The Green, Chelmsford Road, Blackmore Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 2nd May 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Scurvy Hall Lane, Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Scurvy Hall Lane, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Braintree Road for a distance of approximately 70m in a westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 26th May 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WFGTJG9M – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

(Sycamore Way, Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Sycamore Way, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Orange Tree Close for a distance of approximately 20m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th May 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30024676656 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new service installation works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Lucas Avenue, Lime Walk and vice versa (with access only onto Sycamore Way).

(Various Roads, City of Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.8) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the City of Chelmsford as specified in the schedule to this Order.
2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on those lengths of roads specified in the schedule for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (Chelmsford City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 2nd May 2024, exact dates will be specified on One.Network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.
